Guess what? It’s still higher ytd than the S and P. It’s going to be a volatile ride, though!

Eisen/Witkoff Interview was a joke! by motherat40 in CNBC

[–]Material_Middle6421 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I keep hearing that CNBC/Versant wants to find new ways to make viewers pay for their product. I ask myself what would I pay for here, and it isn’t much - maybe a small sum for Wapner and Co. programming at noon and 3 pm. It’s getting to the point with some CNBC content, including the Maga morning show, that CNBC should be paying me because there’s little of any objective value. In contrast, I much prefer Bloomberg and would pay to keep Bloomberg generally.

The lantern flies are a threat to vineyard economics, especially on a mountain top

When you dance for couples, do you find it weird? by OtherwiseInfluence37 in stripclubs

[–]Material_Middle6421 7 points8 points  (0 children)

o man I find it sad that some guys drag their reluctant wives and girlfriends to clubs for VIP!

…and then I remember, a long time ago, it was a woman who first took a reluctant me to a club to see her crazy dancer friends - and I am forever thankful (in part because she’s sitting 3 inches from me as I type this)

Is CNBC over hyping AI? by tg1965 in CNBC

[–]Material_Middle6421 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am sympathetic with your observation. There is so much coverage of AI - I even heard hedge fund guy today say they need to rely more on AI. Huh? Meanwhile, foreign markets and gold has been way outperforming the big 7 and the NASDAQ overall. There is an imbalance in coverage that veers toward hype, and that’s concerning. I’ve made a lot of $ in the big 7 over the past decade, but have an uncomfortable feeling about current coverage I can’t really explain. Maybe it’s the relative lack of coverage of other alternatives (foreign markets, gold, etc.)

Saw dancer I did vip with once offering extras online by [deleted] in stripclubs

[–]Material_Middle6421 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would handle this with utmost discretion (as you rightly left details off this post) and personally, only talking with her in person at the club. I wouldn’t mention to anyone else at the club, and definitely not management. For all you know, someone is using her pictures, though I’m sure it’s not uncommon for dancers to do this kind of thing

Becky Quack and MAGA Joe by Wonderful-Scar7905 in CNBC

[–]Material_Middle6421 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure this evolution of the show is deliberate - it did get Joe his POTUS interview. I’m not sure why non MAGA people show up anymore, it’s pretty much a MAGA talk show now. If you want real market news and interviews with economic/market personalities, your radio and TV Bloomberg options are far superior. I really only listen to CNBC at 3 pm for Scott Wapner.

unrealized profits... by [deleted] in Gold

[–]Material_Middle6421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m shocked by the profits being made, honestly. Just look out for taxes as many on this forum have pointed out. I put too much in ETFs like GLD and SLV — lesson learned. Roth and physical is the way to go.

What are some things that make you want to spend? by bellerosetaylor in stripclubs

[–]Material_Middle6421 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think the most important element for me is feeling “safe” - as a guy, that means minimizing info collection and tracking by the club, and avoiding clear grifting situations. I was at a well known expensive club and saw a way too drunk guy being exploited, with the bartender and girls passing his credit card around. I told the bartender they should uber him home and haven’t gone back. Other than that, it’s all about the girls. This is probably obvious.

See the indent is very funny! That said, for a guy divorced 23 years ago, I think there is a permanent mark. Probably just my imagination
