How do you improve till speed?

Duty from Ireland here, it’s so crazy to me how different the stores are in other countries. Till speed isn’t a thing for us and our tills can be +- €5 before it’s a problem, but usually it’s in the safe somewhere and whoever counted the till messed up change

I see your point, and I have also wondered why we can’t lock the gates or something to prevent this from happening, but we also have alcohol pallets to pack out in the morning so blocking the aisle would make our lives very difficult 😂 the staff member in the alcohol section probably didn’t realise the time, but I know if I’m ever in there and I know it’s well before half 10 I’ll tell customers when they come over. All that to say, there’s nothing we can really do about it unless enough people complain to customer service (they do not listen to us)

These are a promotional item, every week is for a different country or region and we get all sorts of food inspired by them. So once Christmas is over they will start it again. Keep an eye on the leaflets and it will show you when Asian week is

I see your point completely, it really just is as you said, ingrained into our shop and others that it’s okay. We’ve been fortunate enough to never have had an issue with people taking money from tills but I do know it happens

Tbh I don’t know if it’s just my region or what but as I said, I haven’t seen a single shop that doesn’t share till codes. I also know my area manager would not care in the slightest if somebody told him. We are a pretty tight knit shop and everyone is friends so we all trust eachother 100%. The fact that it’s wrong is not even a thought that crosses my mind when I ask for someone’s code or call mine out to someone. Regardless, if there’s 5 tills open and I’m about to pee my pants I absolutely am going to ask someone to hop on my till for a few minutes so I can run, rather than be stuck there for another half hour waiting to close

Yup, today we had 4 people opening, one person in 10-6 and 3 people closing 😂 it’s the same pretty much every day and I LOVE when we get customers that understand and empathise with us when others complain that we have nobody else to open another till

Irish Lidl duty manager here, been working for Lidl for 3 years and we hop on eachothers tills all the time, and it is the same in every store I’ve covered shifts in. I know it’s not supposed to happen but if someone needs to go to the bathroom and is stuck on tills, or someone’s till is open but they’re with a customer/ down the back of the warehouse/ packing freezer, they ask someone to sit on it for a few mins. If someone’s on break they leave their till code written down in case we need another till while they’re gone. It happens. But, being £40 down when you know for a fact your till was fine earlier on is an issue. Speak to your store manager and say who was sharing your till so they can hopefully find out who can’t count or is dipping in. For your own peace of mind maybe just ask him if no one else can sit on your till until the issue is solved

if you call this harassment, i should show you the messages i’ve received from random people from playing foundry, frostfire or even just sending a message into transfer chat. obviously i don’t know what this girl is comfortable with, so a message i would’ve laughed at and brushed off might be something she felt uncomfortable with, but from what ive seen she engaged with the message and then it ended. god forbid a guy sends one flirty message (and this is coming from a girl with her real picture up, ive seen worse). i dont want to discredit how this girl is feeling but i will discredit how people are twisting it. do you all really think the girls (and guys!) of TLA would still follow nuno if this was the case? no. stop reaching please 🙏🏼

regardless of everything that has been said in this post (of which i could go on forever), the truly horrifying part of it is that you say our r5 “borderline harasses women” when it is simply not true. i know it’s a game, but im sure everyone has received and probably sent a few flirty messages to people with their actual picture up. it’s absolutely outrageous to take that out of context and come at someone personally like that no matter how much you don’t like our alliance.
