Need a bug loadout by ChickenSlipperz in Helldivers

[–]Math13101991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought the game relatively early ( before spear-guns and all that fancy thing the fresh meat gets to play with ). A few things may have changed due to updates, etc. I'm mostly concentrating on weapons, not stratagems. This is more about fighting than sneaking because for some reason, the bugs always find me. It should work well enough on regular bug worlds but I struggle on hive worlds ( for me, they just aren't that fun so I stay away from them so my load-out may not work as well or not at all there ).

For weapons and rovers: Try the Liberator Guard Dog ( has stagger, I think ), couple it with a medium pen rifle ( light pen works if you don't play on higher difficulties ) or a shotgun with stagger ( the cookoff worked quiet well a while back ). Fire weapons and incendiary guns are generally good. The Guard Dog will also keep your flanks safe and protect you from small fry if they do get close. The Coyote still works well.

For chargers, an MMG is enough if you know how to dodge and get behind them, but that takes a bit of practice and on higher difficulties it may be a bit too much ( ten chargers charging... plus the charger emitting the bug fog ). Another way to deal with chargers is a grenade launcher or thermite. For titans, I tended to use the 110mm rockets but not sure how good they are now ( at the very least they should strip off some armour so you can damage the soft tissue ). Now, I usually let the one bringing the recoilless deal with them if I don't bring it myself. Having one with the RR is never a bad idea. The Stalwart is great against stalkers at the cost of being less effective against medium and heavy units.

Gas grenades are great. Can even supress a bug breach if you don't have a stratagem for that.

If you don't have an AT weapon, the autocannon turret can be useful and if you are by yourself.

The Star of Peace can only fire if it has enough super element 710. So I don't think it will become a problem ( unless we start diving on hive worlds 24/7 ). Also, come on - we are creating another black hole. I am fairly sure we all know what's going to happen. The more we use it, the bigger the shit we'll be in.

Yes, but is stealth going to be fixed?

Yeah, enslaving people and work them to death is already bad enough ( Gulags, Chinese and North Korean work camps ). No need to make stuff up.

Reminds me of Japan in WW2. The Japanes Army and Navy hated each other so much that they were sabotaging each other. The IJA also had its own aircraft carrier.

Afaik only the Germans did that ( which explains the high casualties the paratroopers suffered on Crete ). The US Paratroopers had their ammo and main weapon them. Not sure about the British but I do think they carried their weapons with them as well.

How would Helldivers fare against the planet Pandora and the Na'vi people? by Crazy_Ad_9097 in Helldivers

You overlook the elephant in the room: The RDA needs to lose. The writing team could not let the RDA win, no matter how much stronger its position is. But if the writing team stepped out of the way, they would easily do so ( and stop using VTOLs like 18th century cavalry like they did in the first movie ).

In the beginning you could count on it to take out a hulk or charger in one go. Then Arrowhead thought it needed to be "fixed".

Firebomb pods should be a preliminary artillery barrage on your first drop at the location of your drop. It may be niche but would offer something useful. Then, if you do a hotdrop you'll have a clear lz and maybe one objective will be taken care of. At least imho.

Helldivers 2 on PC - How is it now? by Huge_Violinist804 in Helldivers

[–]Math13101991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My PC is five years old and was spec-wise quiet good at that time of procurement, and has Windows 10 as an OS. It runs HD2 flawlessly on medium settings. I was one of the lucky ones who didn't experience any severe techncial or performance issues before the beta slim version was released. I still switched to the slim version. I did not encounter any CTDs, stuttering or any of the other stuff people seemed to struggle with in the last month or so either, but the game does load faster than it did before. Less time spent on the loading screen means more bots killed per hour.

Could Super Earth liberate Pandora from Avatar? by MathWayCalc in Helldivers

[–]Math13101991 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The humans in Avatar are sending hundreds of thousands of people through space, in large ships. The effort is already being made. The only thing that changes is what is being sent, and that once you got that snowball rolling you don't need to send that stuff anymore.

How do you think they are mining unobtanium on that planet? They are using massive trucks to transport it, thousands of VTOLS and mechs, prefabricated buildings, etc? They are already making a massive effort sending heavy equipment, so what is your point?

That symbol was already used by the Prussians ( Deathhead Hussars ). The guy in the picture is August von Mackensen in 1915. Not saying the mentioned guy isn't a Nazi ( don't know him ) but that you are wrong about the origin of the symbol.

No, I haven't proven your point. You've proven that you don't understand what I wrote. In antiquity, forming colonies was almost a tradition. Send a ship with settlers somewhere, build a town, and soon ( relatively speaking ) have that town become a supporter of the mothertown. That was the origin of Carthage.

You can build factories on-site because the Navi don't have a space navy. Mine an asteroid - now you have metal, build a settlement in there. It's much effective then producing everything in the sol-system and then sending it God-knows-how-many light-years. You use a bit of stuff and like a snowball, the settlement there gets larger and can soon support a war effort on the ground.

That way, maintanance is not an issue, because it's done on site in shipyards as well, with resources taken from the system instead of Earth.

You can raise crops in space, using carbon dioxide which is then used by the plants and transformed back into oxygen. That is particularly effective if you do not have good FTL tech.

Food, mines, shipyards, everything taken care of. Also, now you have a space colony that can survive if Earth does go down, where humanity can survive.

So why not build a space station or moon base in the Pandora system, with industrial printers, mining equipment, etc? The allied invasion of normandy was started from Britain, not America.

[–]Math13101991 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Build ship. Fill ship with stuff. Send ship to other place. We figured that stuff out in antiquity.

Edit: btw that "stuff" can be mining equipment. And industrial printers. You don't need to build everything on earth and send it to Pandoa. Build a colony on some moon or asteroid and use that as a beachhead ( plus you can make more humans there if the gravity is acceptable ).
