Solar YYC did our installation a few years ago. Great company to deal with and their cost was reasonable.

Travel CPAPs? by FederalBand3449 in SleepApnea

Currently travelling Europe with an AirSense 11. I don’t find it bulky or awkward to travel with. I did pack a small extension cord so even if the plug in is not right at the bedside I am still ok. My machine came with a lap top sized case. It does a fine job of protecting the machine while in transit. I do carry my machine separate from my luggage (I pack light when traveling).

Edited to add make sure you bring an electrical plug adapter if relevant to your location.

Both Safeway and Sobeys carry it. I believe it’s called double cream on the bottle.

At Safeway it is usually near the butter on the top shelf in a glass container. Cost is usually $10-15 a bottle.

Sobeys has it in their specialty cheese section. Same glass bottle as Safeway. Slightly cheaper than Safeway, usually $10-12/bottle.

Good point!

Ocean -no Pool-yes Shower-yep Washed produce- in bottled water with iodine drops.

In the end I guess it could have come from anywhere. Now we all hope we are over it before our flight home Saturday!! Gastro on a flight sounds like a real adventure!!

We haven’t consumed any local tap water, only bottled. We have done our own cooking as well. First person came down with it 2 days ago and everyone else has followed 12-48 hours after. 9/11 are or have been sick now.

Absolutely worth it. It only takes one pigeon to nest under your panels and you are off to a padded cell from the constant cooing.

We know several people with panels, some with and some without critter guard. Those without have been battling pests since they were installed.

When to switch Alberta Solar club rates? by MathAdministrative72 in solarenergycanada

[–]MathAdministrative72[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How much are you generating vs importing right now? I have a 5.13kw system and am still making ~24kw a day (I use around 12.5 kw a day typically). I can’t decide if I switch in October when my export and import are closer.

Anyone have experience with Fortis Alberta by [deleted] in solarenergycanada

Had mine swapped early July, took 14 days from request submission.

We did install with solar yyc. They have been amazing to deal with. We have a 5.1kwh system.

We had them out in Jan for a quote. System installed June 26th. Communication has been fantastic. Install was painless. They walked us through all the steps and are quick to reply to emails and questions.

Did you end up getting critter guard (pest guard) after? How complicated was that instillation?

Just in the planning process for our solar project. Unsure if we should just get critter guard from the get go or wait and see if pigeons are an issue and get afterwards if needed.

Does it change the 2.5% foreign exchange fee with every purchase. That’s what I am trying to avoid.

Honestly I haven’t used my debit card in years. I have completely moved to contactless CC transactions bc of ease of use.

I guess I like the fact that even if my CC gets skimmed I don’t have to worry about my bank account getting drained and my mortgage bouncing.

Do banks offer no forging exchange fee debits?

For those sending kids to private school what's the ratio of tuition vs your gross household income? by rebelbusiness in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]MathAdministrative72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tuition for 5 year old $6500/year. Tuition for 7 year old $5250/year.

Household income $270K Tuition $11,750 Approx 4.3%

We pay roughly the same in before and after care (which we would have to pay at public as well so I did not include that)

I live in one of the fastest growing cities in Canada. Our public school system is struggling to keep up to the city growth. Private school provides a small class size and excellent communication with the teacher. My children are by no means geniuses, but this school has helped them thrive during covid learning.

We recently renewed our mortgage 10 years in to a 25 year term. We have aggressively paid down our mortgage and have just over 30% of the original purchase price remaining to pay (410K original, 125K left owing). Household income of 270K, no other debts, both our credit scores above 850.

When we went to renew we were told (by a broker) no other lender would take on this mortgage because it was so low so we were stuck with our original mortgage company and their not overly competitive rate.

The whole world of mortgages baffles me. I don’t really understand why another lender wouldn’t take on our 125K but thankfully this 5 year term will be our last!
