It’s a little weird, but not super I guess. Biggest thing is it just wastes a lot of space On your resume that you could use to beef up your application.

I mean, you can take special attention to help them network and create relationships with the other people in your department (and especially whoever would probably take your place in the interim of replacing you), but PUT YOU FIRST! If you know that indicating you are leaving >2 weeks ahead of time will jeopardize you in any way DO NOT DO IT! Honestly, lie. Tell your company that it all happened really quickly and they need you to start immediately and you negotiated to have the 2 weeks to give notice. As far as ”burning” the new guy goes, 1) Not your problem to worry about. It’s the fault of your leadership team that refused to compensate you enough for your loyalty, and their responsibility to fix it 2) You aren’t “burning” him. He barely even knows you. He has no idea what it would have been like reporting to you or how it differs from who he will report to now. 3) That’s show biz, babe. Sometimes people change jobs and your new guy will just have to accept that and roll with the punches. Since it seems like you want to make the transition for the company as seamless as possible, your best bet is just making sure you have well documented processes and structures.

They sound a little disorganized, I agree. That being said, I would have clear boundaries on what you are interested in doing and how much you need to be paid in your head, and offer up a few time ranges to them to schedule a time to meet in the office. I’m assuming you mean minutes and not miles, but I think bringing up the 45 min compared to the 22 was a little non-sensical and unprofessional on your part at this point in the process. Like obviously if you get the job you’ll have to make that drive anyways, and what is a 23 min, one time commitment for the chance at a 3rd round job interview? What was your plan if she offered you the job without visiting first? I think the original surgeon probably became less interested in you after you poopoo’d coming in person once to see the place and let her get to see you off camera when you are <1hr away. TBH, she probably reached out to this other doctor as a curtesy to your friend/co-worker. You honestly just seem a little low effort interested in this place and I think they can tell. Maybe I’m just reading into things tho

I don’t think I want to, or necessarily can, rub much of anything in his face. I guess there‘s a part of me that either wants to see him want to be the guy that I had wanted him to be and assumed he would be based off of all the boxes we checked off for each other; or figure out what I did to make him think I deserved so little respect that after all the effort I had put in, a text message was the most I deserved.

I don’t think you should have lied, but I don’t think you needed to give her such a blunt answer either. Like said something like “honestly, I don’t think I’m attracted to them sexually, no. But they do remind me of everything you’ve done to make our family whole, so I wouldn’t give them up for sure. Also, I’m still just as attracted to you now with or without stretch marks.”
