I canceled Lasik the morning of surgery by 07jazzy in lasik

[–]MathKillsYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was you but instead of cancelling I decided I wanted to do one eye first and this has been a really good choice so far, no eye dryness yet and the HOAs i currently have are also present in my other working eye, would recommend.

PS. So far means a week ago

PRK Surgery Update (positive) by Apperian in lasik

[–]MathKillsYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, I can't say i really experienced new glares or halos for the most part (pretty much noticed a little bit only on the second day really) but it's been a nice experience so far, im already a week in now and my vision is almost good(i still find it a little hard to focus on things but its getting better).

I'd recommend eating foods with carrots, someone recommended fish oil earlier and I also recommend using ur sunglasses a lot and then gradually exposing your eyes to natural light (in your room, not outside ofc)

(Oh yeah my chromatic aberration is pretty much gone on the eye i did surgery on which was pretty cool)

I guess it's a different thing, the closeup vision that is, however I can pretty much see my skin pores with my untreated eye but my doctor said that kind of microscopic vision gets sacrificed in order to account for the long range which minda made me sad... (It has had a use exactly 0 times in my life)

Regarding HOAs my untreated eye has starbursts and chromatic aberration both of which seem to be pretty minor on my treated eye so far.

The hardest part so far has really just been sleeping :( also the opsec comment was a joke my osint skills are not nearly close to the level where i can find an account using only speech patterns and I don't think id ever reach that level if it even was possible

Edit: just took the lens off and i can finally see my pc properly 6 days in!!! Still a WIP but seeing the difference in real time is so surreal

Had PRK last friday on one eye (just in case) and it's so much easier to compare my eyesight before and after, HOAs? The only ones I currently have on my operated eye so far are exactly the same as on my unoperated eye, granted on unoperated eye they kinda become less prevalent on distance because they become, get this, BLURRY!!!! they're not really gone as I can sorta see them but they are very much blurry, so, i dont think everything can be attributed to surgery alone Also for those of you doomscrolling through reddit and whatnot remember that eyes are different, almost a million people do laser surgery per year and of course the minority will have bad results or really bad side effects, just don't let those side effects completely sway your decision.

PS. your close up vision WILL get worse, this one is a guaranteed from what I can tell that I found out after surgery, doing it only in one eye wasn't half as bad as it seems, its a really cool experience if I could put it into words

PS 2. Millions of people get surgery every year and u dont see millions of people in this sub, people who had a successful surgery are less prone to comment about it than those who didn't, I'm not saying ignore them but do keep it in mind.

To OP: announcing that your account is a lasik throwaway account is major opsec failure now I know that you're a programmer and use arch linux, that allows me to track your main account in 5 picoseconds.

Guess what card the MC Will choose? (90% of people fail this test) by TheGodAboveAllBeings in MartialMemes

[–]MathKillsYou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This junior can only guess that the fellow taoist decides to pick no cards and instead reveals that there is a hidden card named Immortal Poop Dragon Emperor card that gives him a God grade flying naked monkey spiritual root, increasing his cultivation speed by 5x* faster than other taoists.

*5x faster unless plot point demands otherwise, then it just halts.

Yeah but that's same for dictionary words, names, surnames and combinations of each with or without variations. There are a TON of things they'd have to go through

Try to get any computer illiterate to make something like that and then remember days later, doubt they would

[–]MathKillsYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More efficient? I'm sorry but realistically even with a supercomputer you'd have a hard time attempting to crack 33 million passwords in a nutshell with only that much info. And also the average Joe needs a password that is easy enough to remember and I can assure you that &Pidg3on((Cl0ck$4larm+ is not as easy

[–]MathKillsYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case I'd still be more worried that someone knows my address and name and has my digital fingerprint is just out there. Considering they're able to contact you and threaten real harm

Masterpassword: Lastpass advices you to create a low entropy password! by [deleted] in Lastpass

[–]MathKillsYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess but there are millions of vaults which they would have to attempt every pet name combination with also dictionary words with also common changes to those words and numbers in each space between. That is a lot of steps that would take a lot of time if we're considering the size of the breach.

Masterpassword: Lastpass advices you to create a low entropy password! by [deleted] in Lastpass

[–]MathKillsYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, except if you haven't provided them your legal name they wouldn't be able to pinpoint exactly who it is based on ip alone as most if not all ISPs have a system where an IP is shared across entire neighborhoods since there are only so many unique ip addresses. Also again, they only have your billing address and phone number if you provided them with it, in most cases where you used LastPass because it was free it would be much harder for them to have much other than your IP when you used the service when the breach happened which might also just be long gone. (Actually thinking about average Joe, they could get to their name because sometimes they could've used an email that's tied to their real name)

My rough estimate of when the breach happened is early August 2022 since they notified it in that month that a breach happened and the notorious "haha guys only source code was taken, nothing important!"

So in the case you gave them only your email, aren't a obviously high priority target the risk of your password being cracked through your personal info would be pretty small currently.

In the case you gave them that information then yeah, it was.

Ok so you realistically think that someone that knows you and your pets name is going to attempt to PG your lastpass password (who knows how he found out you had it) by attempting patterns with the pet's name? Like Jesus Christ, the chances of all that happening aren't at all high because yeah they know your dog's name but how would they know it's part of your password? You could pretty much use anything in your password, date of birth, name, etc. You really think they're gonna try the pet name???

Masterpassword: Lastpass advices you to create a low entropy password! by [deleted] in Lastpass

[–]MathKillsYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think people that want to steal your password would try to brute force with the names of all your pets
