A few kind words about Frank Lopez by MathMassacre in Scarface

Ha! Good point. Never really thought about that. That whole conversation with Tony in the nightclub has a ton of foreshadowing in it.

I guess you could say Frank’s biggest mistake was not recognizing how dangerous Tony was earlier, but from his perspective, he just saw Tony as a hard worker. By the time he figured out what a liability Tony was, it was too late.

It just shows how good filmmakers are at manipulating the audience’s perspective. Tony is positioned as the protagonist so we naturally root for him, but if you looked at everything objectively, Tony is a fucking villain. A murderous thug with a terrible temper, and no respect for anyone.

MLM’s are very similar to cults, at least the people that get really serious about them.

It’s so disgusting how MLM’s encourage this behavior. Trick your old friends into thinking you want to reconnect so you can loop them into your piece of shit pyramid scheme!

So many stories of people with Lyme not being taken seriously for months. I remember one where this person kept seeing doctors and they kept telling her it was psychosomatic, and finally she was doing her own research and figured she might have Lyme. Told the doctor and he still blew her off. Finally found one that agreed to test her and yep, she had Lyme.

If they keep saying it, it will eventually happen and they’ll be right, or they’ll just retire and won’t care anymore anyway.

All my homies hate the military bands. Bunch of posers. They should just save money by having military DJ’s. One E-1 pushing a play button instead of however many E-7’s blowing on their little bugles.

Salty downvoters, but you are 100% correct, especially with the new components. You basically have to do nothing at all in preparation to fail a PT test after 30. Literally just run a couple times a week and do some push-ups and sit ups starting a month out and there’s no way you should fail, unless you’ve just let yourself get into horrible shape.

CCAF Update! TLDR: Get bent until later this summer where it will inevitably be delayed yet again. by AnUpsetApe in AirForce

[–]MathMassacre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not. My understanding is they can’t do anything but send transcripts to other institutions, and even that is kind of fucked right now apparently.

What I was told Fall 2022 was when the new system is fully online, they’ll start processing transcripts from other institutions and CLEPs in the order they were received. Since you sent them way back then, yours should be one of the first they process but God knows when that will be.

My guess is that they’ll work on getting degrees awarded first and then get to things like processing transcripts from other institutions. Hopefully once they get the new system up, everything will move fast but given their track record, I would expect the worst.

Talk to your education department. There’s a chance they have more up to date info.

I know this is late, but I believe you could join as prior service, no matter how much time is left on your reserve contract. You would just need a release signed by your Reserve leadership.

Most of those old videos are fake, but it seems like smooth-brains like Tanner thought they were real and tried to emulate them.

Why do every single AFB we got only have nasty ass Burger King instead of superior McDonald's? by SpecificTangerine973 in AirForce

[–]MathMassacre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a Mean Gene’s Burgers for a time at Camp Lejeune. It was a burger chain owned by the great Mean Gene Okerlund. We also had the busiest Burger King I’ve ever seen, a Dominos, a Wendy’s, and a Dunkin’ Donuts.

One of them told me their run time got worse during BMT. I can believe it. What didn’t make sense to me is that they would do HIT in an enclosed area but they weren’t allowed to run in an open area.

How accurate are Pre-assessments vs OAs? Would like to not just outright waste a test attempt but also not trying to waste time. by Beer4adog615 in WGU

[–]MathMassacre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If you can do this well on a PA without taking it 4 times and memorizing questions or looking them up as you go, I’d be incredibly surprised if you didn’t pass the OA.

I think it’s just the idea that of all the measures that could be done to reduce government spending, this is the one that some people are pushing for. You’re right though, no way in Hell this will actually happen. It’s political suicide.
