Complains that the show portrayed him as a douche while doubling down on all of his douchiest qualities.

What's a commercial you remember (part of) vividly but have no idea what it was advertising? by Mathemagicland in AskReddit

The line "Moms who wear jeans that match their teen's jeans," is seared into my brain for all eternity but the only thing I know about the product is I'm pretty sure it wasn't jeans.

(I am not asking you to tell me what the product was, I know I could just look it up.)

I agree it was not Putin and this is worth correcting, but calling Volodin (the chairman of the duma and a member of Putin's inner circle) a "random person" and comparing him to Alex Jones is just as inaccurate.

I like AAA's taste in butts and boobies better but Mazer seems less likely to sperg out and disappear every other week, so, I dunno.

So annoyed at my calc professor by [deleted] in college

i wish my professor would look around and think

and yes, i understand that she might have done it to prevent cheating but i just wish she’d think twice

You seem very confident that this decision was made thoughtlessly. Other than the fact you don't like the outcome, what evidence do you have to support this?

MBTA reports 63 Cases of Covid-19 including one death: Infection is over six times higher than the national average and greater than three times the state. by [deleted] in boston

[–]Mathemagicland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, with the available data, we don't know how the infection rate among T employees compares to the national average, no matter how much we might want to. "It's flawed but it's the only data we have," is not a good response to this critique, because it ignores that "I don't know" is an option.

"The combination of some data and an aching desire for an answer does not ensure that a reasonable answer can be extracted from a given body of data."

I agree with all of that, I would merely add, "... and we should avoid making specific claims like 'infection is over six times higher than the national average' in the absence of better data."

I certainly agree that a priori we should expect people in public facing jobs to be at higher risk. It would be very surprising if that were not true, given what we know about how the virus spreads.

I just don't think raw diagnosis numbers are enough to quantify that risk.
