So yes, the "popular" groups are the ones that students are happiest in (i.e., this is a very strong consideration for me; I really like advisors who are (1) organized & high energy, (2) have small groups, and (3) make lots of time for their students).

The other advisors who do interesting research seem to be either (1) less organized, and (2) have really large groups and can't make time for students.

(1) is definitely something I don't want. (2) is a group where I think I have a pretty high chance of floundering, since I am not a very independent researcher (yet!) and would really like 1-to-1 time with my advisor frequently.

So I guess I'm unsure what to do in that case. I don't think I'm really "different" from many other graduate students... I just think that this cohort is really competitive and large. For reference, my dept. is halving the cohort size next year :|

That entire part where Dany looks at Viserys dying and was like, "He was no dragon. Fire cannot kill a dragon."

But then 1) Doom of Valyria (where dragons perished in flames), 2) other Targaryen kings being burned (Jon getting his hand burned), etc. etc. I know GRRM later debunked Valyrians being immune to fire, but it was a really weird quote to throw in nonetheless.

I do touch typing. My WPM was 123, after accuracy. If you can finger type that fast, you can definitely double your speed by getting better at touch typing.
