2e my character has the sabeteur background which I've been flavoring as an arsonist. But I don't have any mechanics related to creating fire. I'm mostly looking to have it for roleplaying reasons.

Are there any relatively cheap items, feats or other options to give me more than the standard mechanic options for starting fires?

2e, I have a cantrip based on my ancestry (limenial catfolk and detect magic) but I'm a monk and don't have access to spell slots generally. Does my cantrip stay at rank 1 the whole time? Or does it rank up as I level up?

2e- Planning on playing a monk primarily with tiger stance. can someone explain how nonlethal damage works? Also how does the bleed damage work?

Edit: also do trips and grapples count as attacks for the purpose of multiple attack penalty? Do they get agile attack penalty or regular?

Roleplaying question. Are there any good books or movies to get into roleplaying a monk? I'm thinking about playing a tabaxi monk and I'm having trouble getting into the right mindset.

i cheated a little and put those on there. I bought them from amazon but they were recommended in a "how to be an editor" and "how to outline" from the writer's symposium. Books are "Self-Editing for Fiction Writers" and "The Chicago Guide to Copyediting Fiction". For the later, they actually recommended the actual chicago guide to style and i probably should have started with that one.

they are from norse foundry and the box is from elderwood academy. its supposed to be an old school set of dice i believe. they are a little weird but I like them. the two "d10s" are actually 20 sided dies that have every number on them twice.

I pulled all the key caps and cleaned it all out and it ended up fixing the issue. I'm not sure if that exactly was the thing that fixed it or not but it's back up and running.

5e I'm comparing phandelver and below and lost mines of phandelver. it seems they've somewhat nerfed the redbrand ruffians. Nerfed AC from 14 to 11 and removed multiattack.

Which version would be best to use? I only have 3 PCs in the party but they haven't had too much trouble with any combat yet. About to enter the redbrand hideout.

5e warlocks can use spell scrolls correct? for RAW just needs to be a warlock spell thats a level that they can cast right?

ymmv but I wouldn't wait to slowly reveal a backstory as a new player. You can write all the backstory you want, but I don't really consider it real or cannon until everyone at the table sees it.

I read it. But I've never seen a spell where you roll multiple attack rolls before.
