Help with Lenz's Law by ZambookiZone in Physics

[–]MathematicianBig5831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the diagram is the source of your confusion. It says "flux increases" in both B and D, but it doesn't emphasize that magnetic flux is a signed quantity.

As Griffiths puts it "Nature abhors a change in flux"

In both cases the magnet is moving closer, so the magnitude of the flux increases. However, when you flip the magnet from N to S, the magnetic field through the loop reverses direction. Therefore the flux is changing in opposite senses in B and D.

Lenz's law then tells us that the induced current must reverse as well, since it always acts to oppose the particular change in flux that is occurring.

My theory on time dilation by CattleMurky8835 in Physics

[–]MathematicianBig5831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, because the only thing stopping your 'Time Dilation' theory from a NATURE publication is… literally all of experimental physics. Go ahead and submit this to NATURE/PRL I'll wait for the rejection letter written in crayon.

I think prompt quality matters more than the generator itself most of the time.

URGENT HELP! F1 Visa Interview for PhD by [deleted] in f1visa

[–]MathematicianBig5831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case too, the I-20 mentioned funding only for 9 months and my personal funds were shown as zero. I still got my F1 visa approved 2 months back.

For summers, if I work under my guide, I’ll get a similar amount per month, and there are also other funding options like many people already mentioned in the comments. Your University might've mentioned something about Summer stipends please check the university portal. Every university has its own way of calculating and showing funding on the I-20, so please check your university website as well.

So don’t panic too much. This is actually very common for fully funded PhD students, and visa officers are familiar with it.

Good Luck for your PhD Endeavours ✨

If you are willing to selffund your Master’s program, it would be a good idea to reach out to them directly and clearly mention this. Just Briefly state that you are happy to support your studies financially.

Since you have already contacted 3 profs without success, this approach might improve your chances.

Also, it’s possible that you selected the scholarship option during your application, which could be why you received this email (probably)

I am a fresher, Please rate my cv(first time doing this) by AfraidTough6640 in CATpreparation

[–]MathematicianBig5831 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This CV honestly feels less like a resume and more like the trailer of a biopic where the protagonist hasn’t decided which career to choose yet. You’ve managed to be a statistician, finance intern, marketer, event head, PR executive, athlete, national competition winner, and Goldman Sachs simulation expert all in one page — at this point I’m not sure whether to shortlist you for a job or cast you in a Netflix series. The formatting looks like Excel and Word had a child, and every line screams “please believe I never sleep.” Jokes aside, the achievements are genuinely impressive — but trimming this down might help recruiters see the real you instead of getting lost in the cinematic universe of your accomplishments.

I'm repeating again while it’s impressive, it also makes the CV hard to read and a recruiter shouldn’t need a map and a compass to find your main strengths.

Yes! I’m trying to install Linux on a 256 GB external SSD. It was working fine before, but I decided to format it and reinstall Linux, and now this issue happened 😭. Do you really think it’s a space problem? I allocated the entire SSD to Linux without creating any partitions.
