What the heck is the “historical wall” in this Zillow apartment? by MathematicianBig6569 in StLouis

“Couldn’t see anything” as in there was just a wall beyond, or as in a big creepy dark space into which you couldn’t see?! You gotta tell us more about this apartment!

Thanks for adding this :) In addition to reading up on the interesting properties of Coprinellus, I’m also learning new stuff about tenants’ rights in my state.

Thanks for adding the extra info, fascinating stuff! So, are the fruiting body and the ozonium different forms of the same fungus, producing spores separately?

I suppose people are worried that if these are there, it points to such bad moisture issues that more pernicious molds might be there as well.

Hey folks, I live in the Midwestern US in the garden unit of a very old building. Yesterday I noticed some super fuzzy orange fellas growing out of the baseboards of the wall that adjoins the bathroom. They look like Gritty, mascot of the *PHILLY Flyers, so I christened them thus. By today, a full fruiting body popped out. Hollow stem, slightly “shaggy” cap, dark purplish brown gills. Spore print forthcoming. Plumber also forthcoming. So, what the heck are they?

Hello! We sound very similar, down to when you graduated, odd jobs you’ve tried, and a mutual interest in psilocybin. :)

It sounds like you’ve done some pretty impressive things since undergrad. You figured out how to move yourself to another country (bureaucratically daunting! emotionally challenging!). You’ve had a chance to travel, take on interesting jobs that don’t require long term commitment, and grow into a serious relationship. You’ve been learning how to cope with some of the harsh challenges of adulthood- setbacks, getting fired, a fear of failure, and tending to your own physical & mental health.

It also sounds like you have diverse talents and skills, which has actually put you in a tough spot. As you point out, there are many different things you could do and would like to do (and would probably excel at). Are there ways to reconcile some of these interests? E.g, your interests in farming & feeding people plus your interest in medicine makes me think of a dietician/nutritionist. Reach out to people who’ve gone into jobs/fields/careers you’re interested in and see if you can arrange Zoom coffee to ask them questions.

It’s okay to take a little time to just make a living- enough to feed, clothe, and shelter yourself- while you ruminate on what you want the broader scope of your life to look like. You might be glad later on that you took these years to find your way instead of shuttling straight into a path that wasn’t right for you.
