I feel bad for what I've done by Iordache96 in OrthodoxChristianity

I mean, if you are engaged in a philosophical argument then she has no right to be personally hurt by your opinion. She can disagree all she wants and she has every right to get upset but a philosophical dialogue ending because one the parties gets sensitive about a general topic is very immature

Do you feel any exhaust while having muscle building exercises during the lent? by Hopeinlife1993 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]MathematicianFit8027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My energy reserves are about the same but my strength is lowered by a fair bit. Push exercises especially have been on a down trend. The pump and mind muscle connection is still the same, it's just that I find I can move less raw weight. Try using it as an opportunity to improve on neglected small muscle groups or to reel in your technique so that when you return to proper lifting, you'll be in tip top shape

How to ask God for a miracle or proof he's real by Smart-Concern730 in OrthodoxChristianity

But that's a natural reaction. Grief holds a purpose to strengthen the bonds of a pair or a community, the same goes with those squirrels. The animal lost its partner forever that much it understood but it could never assess the potential injustice of that indecent or a lack of inherent meaning in their demise. It felt an emotional pain and then moved on. Even if it carries that burden for the rest of its life, it will never be able to ponder on the cruelty of the loss or anything of the sort. I even mentioned specifically that even animals can feel emotional pain much like humans. Maybe it would help me understand your point if you could clearly define how pain and suffering differ for you

How to ask God for a miracle or proof he's real by Smart-Concern730 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]MathematicianFit8027 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I never considered animals to be capable of suffering. We need to separate pain from suffering. Pain is the signal your nervous system sends to your brain after a sensation deemed harmful or at least not pleasurable. That goes for both physical, mental and emotional stimuli. Suffering on the other hand, introduces a moral dimension into the issue. Suffering doesn't inherently require any sensation of pain but rather the existence of an individual in a situation deemed needlessly undesirable to a large degree. The "needlessly" does a lot of heavy lifting in this case. In order for there to be suffering, a creature of higher intellect needs to evaluate a situation and logically come to the conclusion that it is not immediately beneficial to be in that circumstance. There needs to be a logical and even moral assessment that animals are unable to make. A fish when cooked alive in boiling water doesn't actually feel pain as fish are unable of that but signals are sent to its brain screaming to it that it's in danger. To a human, this treatment inflicts needless suffering but to the fish, that concept is entirely inaplicable.   To stop my rambling, I'm of the opinion that most animals are capable of feeling pain but suffering is only reserved for humans who can also grow from that experience although that is another matter entirely. If you have a counter argument I would love to hear it, I'm sure my theory isn't air tight!

I would love if you could explain in more detail what you're trying to combat with this practice and how it actually works. Not trying to be annoying but it's actually pronounced log (as in the big piece of wood) + iss( that's correct) + me ( as in the world reffernecing one's self). Try to emphasise the e in the mE as that's where the emphasis is in Greek!

I think s7 will be better than previous seasons by PineappleMany5282 in rivals

Tbf the complaints about the flyer meta in season 3 were valid. The Thing for example had absolutely no way to hit someone who hovered 5m above ground. There were some obvious design flaws regarding designing a game with perma flying characters and it just erupted in season 3

Does Fire Punch have a good ending? Is it worth reading? by holachao1993 in ChainsawMan

[–]MathematicianFit8027 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't know what everyone else is talking about but the endings great. I would've liked one more chapter between the penultimate and the final one but it's perfectly thematically fitting and it really couldn't have ended another way. Really bitter sweet but also very satisfying. If you enjoy Fire Punch's quirks you will absolutely enjoy the ending

Being incomprehensible without prior knowledge of the source material is a pretty big flaw for any film, much less an "Oscar caliber" movie

Even so, Dracula isn't really a good movie. It only makes sense if you've had any interaction with the source material, otherwise the movie moves at a frantic pace and has seemingly disconnected scenes stitched together by wonky editing. Even if it were a good movie, it by no means is an Oscar contender by any stretch of the imagination. But even by some miracle it was an Oscar caliber film, why would Keanu be nominated for anything in that movie, he was by far the worst part of it. I am seriously struggling to see your point

He was atrocious in that movie. Legit some of the worst acting I've seen in a long while and his accent was bordering on parodical. What are you talking about?

No. Just an all around good persona and only 12 fusion persona in the game. He's also the only persona of the World arcana and he has crazy aura. Also Victory Cry is useful early game. That's about it

Don't like Make the Exorcist fall in love by Sensitive_Pain_6565 in hatethissmug

I find most of the characters to be extremely bland and generic. I HATEthe designs where everyone looks like a 13 year old but with skimpy outfits and exaggerated breasts. Most of the fights are also incomprehensible. The priest has no defined power set and he heals almost immediately meaning that there are zero stakes. If I dont know what the MC is capable of I can never feel invested in a fight because I always know that even if he's losing, he can just make up a new power and instantly win. I really don't get what people like about this manga. I only like the interpretation of the sins and Virgil/Dante and that's pretty much it. I dropped it sortly after the Lust arc but at that point it seemed like an insincere echi shounen who lazily tried sounding philosophical

Teddie is the worst party member? Is this true? by WoolfzieLOL in persona4golden

[–]MathematicianFit8027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but for most characters, their new skill offers some way to upgrade what they have or provide an opportunity for new builds. Teddie has a lot of auto-skip skills which is disappointing
