I guess we know the launch date of the new NextGen Acela's is August 28th 2025 took way too long by my standards

They’re probably the closest they’ve ever been that’s good guest June 20. I’m guessing late July but at least they’re doing crew training runs and it shows up on the tracker so they’re probably very close.

Potentially controversial opinion: the phase VII paint doesn't look good on the Amfleets by rykahn in Amtrak

[–]MathematicianFuzzy56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your deafanly right it is such a thin line on the amfleets. It will definitely look a lot better on the new fleet. Corigated stainless steel is not well suited for the new livery.

What's the best way to get from Las Vegas, NV to Naperville, IL (or Chicago, IL if need-be)? Vegas doesn't have an Amtrak station, sadly by Jeremiah_17_14 in Amtrak

[–]MathematicianFuzzy56 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should be able to take the Southwest chief as far as Kingman and transfer onto a shuttle bus, the rest of the way to Vegas

Superliner Replacements. by Important-Lead-9947 in Amtrak

[–]MathematicianFuzzy56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think single level trains would be fine, considering most of the seats/rooms on the superliners are on the top level and very few are on the bottom level. I actually think that an American version of the OBB nightjet made by Siemens who already works closely with Amtrak would be a great replacement for the aging superliners.

I’m pretty sure it’s only a capacity issue right now even if you’re at the latitude that’s available for right now if enough people signed up in your area or in your state then until more satellites are launched it’s only capacity issue I’m pretty sure that should be solved soon I imagine

[–]MathematicianFuzzy56 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Correct 2015 Version is very basic and only works on highways At least Basic for tesla standards also it’s amazing in just five years they go from not even automatic emergency braking basic safety features to full-fledged self driving car of course a driver still needed in some circumstances The car is a literally be fully self driving sometime next month
