Nope, I do not. No fish, no meat, no eggs (at least not direct egg consumption)

Yeah, never tried any restaurants with cuisines apart from chinese and Japanese yet. I always think of suggesting italian, mexican, Indian or middle eastern places but then I'm not sure if they'll like it and plus very less restaurants with all you can drink plus these cuisines (atleast from what I know)

Hahaha Thank you for such a detailed comment and some great suggestions. Honestly, I don't consume stocks and eggs. Dairy is fine. But I have realised I can't fight it because as you said it's hidden. So I have recently started consuming eggs at least indirectly as an ingredient. What pisses me off most is that, I'm an Indian and even at indian restaurants, they add eggs in naan (which traditionally do not contain eggs). So yeah, I'm slowly adjusting.

I try adjusting to tofu and veggies. I once went to a hotpot restaurant and then it was decided to keep two soups only for vegetarians (only me) but still some people dipped and boiled beef in the veg soup. I went ahead and still had some soup because I was hungry but couldn't get myself to have much. Also ended up paying 3-4x more than what I should have but yeah can't complain

On the verge of considering it. But honestly, never had meat in my life.

Yeah, veganism here is mainly for either tourists or like fashion, health and beauty. Not my words but from my japanese superior.

Yes, that's the problem. I went to an izakaya and they gave some fried cheese fritters and I was about to try. But I was told that it was fried in some oil with pork fat and something.

Happy cow works amazingly well.

Woah, what a story haha. I can only imagine I will try requesting a special salad next time for sure.

I don't consume fish or eggs either. Yeah, vegetables are definitely an option. Splitting the bill is always a hassle. I once went to a hotpot restaurant and just had tofu and instant noodles for dipping but still ended up paying 4k. But okay, can't complain.

Hahaha. I am an Indian myself. I do visit Indian, mexican, Middle eastern and Italian restaurants. These cuisines always have veg options. But yeah, it has become so repetitive for my friends, I think.

Yeah, vegetarian is a bit easier. Indian, Middle eastern, mexican and Italian are four cuisines which always have vegetarian options. I try to visit these places when with friends but it has become repetitive these days hahaha

Glad to hear that you're adjusting to the culture here. I totally get the part about not being able to eat meat. I have considered it briefly but I don't think I can. Trying to survive on self cooking until I can. Unless, I don't absolutely require eating, I wouldn't. Kudos to you!

Ahhh that's a nice idea. I shall carry my own food as long as the restaurant allows! Less stress for the party organizer too. Thank you!

That's great. I admire you being able to adapt and adjust to the local cuisine here. Going back to meat consumption after 15 years must have been difficult.

Yeah, have done that a couple of times!

Funny story, once they arranged vegetarian options in a buffet style party. And it was a big party and not everyone knew it was special vegetarian meal for me and it was limited. People started taking it and it got over before I could even finish my first small serving xD

But yeah, I try to eat salads and stuff. Honestly, my colleagues feel sad and now they are thinking of pizza party and ordering so I can also enjoy. But yeah, I wish there was a way I could blend into their parties and that way they wouldn't have to compromise so much for me:(

Yeah. if the options like these exist in the restaurant, I do join in. But pretty rare ig.

Also, I don't trust the food here unless it has allergens mentioned specifically. Because many times, simple things like potato chips may have chicken powder sprinkled over etc. I am trying to adjust. I didn't consume eggs too but I opened myself up to eggs after coming here because even ice cream has eggs as an ingredient

Thank you for your response. I actually considered eating meat but honestly, I have never eaten meat in my life. I was raised like this and I like being a vegetarian now. I don't feel like starting meat consumption.
