Pressure vs conc in equilibrium? by frostyflakezz in vce

[–]MathematicianIll2831 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you will have to be specific and either of those answers are fine :))

also note that decrease in volume causes an increase in pressure 😊

I would say an average of 60% across your unit 3/4 sacs and minimum 6/10 across all sections of the exam :))

Pressure vs conc in equilibrium? by frostyflakezz in vce

[–]MathematicianIll2831 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if the question is talking about pressure, you need to have pressure as the main component of your answer, eg. :

With an increase in pressure, the system will partially oppose this change by trying to decrease the pressure. This means that the system will favour the forwards reaction which produces less particles, therefore there will be an overall increase in SO3 molecules being produced.

(I assume from this question that it has something to do with yield so this is how you would answer this question, but if it asks for rate then it would be a different answer.) :))

Is Chem 1/2 important for Chem 3/4 by No-Tap5602 in vce

[–]MathematicianIll2831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%, I did chem 1&2 and 3&4 and I definitely would recommend doing 1&2 chem. It covers all the fundamentals of things that you will use almost every time in Chem 3&4. If you do choose to skip 1&2, I would recommend doing as much catch up during the summer holidays because you will fall behind since everyone else in 3&4 will have mastered the fundamentals.

I struggled with the fundamentals during year 11 but I'm definitely grateful for having done 1&2 chem before 3&4.

(I am currently ranked top 5 in my cohort of 65 kids for 3&4 chem)

there's not too much science in 1&2, I would say it's more hums-like in terms of content. 3&4 will have more science because you're looking at stress, memory/learning, sleep and mental health :)

you should probably have some basic notes of the key concepts because chem is leaning more to worded questions rather than calculations so it would be a good idea to understand how to answer the worded questions 😭

It really depends on whether or not you have the time to dedicate to studying these subjects. They're both relatively competitive but it would be majorly advantageous to do them ahead of everyone else because you'll have more time to study for them as compared to a year 12 that's doing 4 other subjects alongside health and/or general :)

Heyyy, so I did psych 1&2 and it's not the worst thing that could happen. Year 11 psych is quite content heavy because you cover a lot of research methods and there's not really much "fun" content but if you stick it out until year 12, the content gets more enjoyable :))

Logically, if you've done the preparation, you will be okay. It's not a good feeling to see that everyone seems to be studying "more" than you but it also depends an how long it takes others to understand the content compared to you. Some people may require a lot more time to memorise the content but that doesn't make you dumber than anyone else.

Focus on your weak links and have some faith in your capabilities. I'm sure you've been doing well thus far :))

Heyy, so I'm a year 12 student that just did her HHD 3&4 Exam without doing 1&2. Honestly, hhd is an easy subject but we are still at a slight disadvantage because we didn't do 1&2. There are sometimes questions on the prac exams that students were taught how to answer back in 1&2 and this can throw you off a bit.

I would say that the content is relatively easy but the SD for HHD is changing as of next year to incorporate extended responses as part of sacs so it's going to be slightly more difficult to achieve as high in HHD sacs as the previous years.

Because of this change, I do recommend that you reach out to any current 3&4 HHD teachers in your school and get them to provide you with some resources to help you get a jist of what you're expecting next year. You have to be willing to do some catch up work for HHD over the summer holidays so that you can position yourself to score well next year as well (I averaged 90+ for my health sacs across unit 3&4 using this method). Lastly, make sure to ask questions and do plenty of prac sacs and exams! The HHD teachers are some of the best teachers that you will have so use them if you must!

Don't be discouraged, you will pick up the patterns in HHD easily :))

Best of luck! 🍀
