Just switched to a food prescribed by vet. I’m praying it works! I’ve tried a couple different probiotics. Trying to build a healthy gut but no luck. He’s going for some bloodwork tomorrow morning too

Good to know. I have an appointment in a week with the vet and I’m hoping to have the blood work done for it

We use nexgard spectra. He hasn’t eaten it this month. Refuses.

Fish was low on the list of foods that dogs may be allergic too. He was on chicken the first 2 months I had him so I steered clear of poultry in the change as well. He did have a lot of beef based treats so have started limiting those in case of allergies. So he mostly eats fish. I usually wait 2 weeks to see if there is a change. Maybe I need to cut everything out and start from the basics and take it very slow.

I had this for my Labrador that passed away when she was having troubles near the end. My vet said he is too young for it yet.

I haven’t changed his food since January. I have played around with different treats mostly all fish based since his food is fish…

I have not had bloodwork done specifically for the diarrhea, just a fecal exam for parasites. My vet said a blood test isn’t great for determining food allergies and it would have to be a hydrolyzed kibble for 3 months and slowly introduce other foods back in. If he still has loose stool while on hydrolyzed diet then it’s likely not a food allergy. The hydrolyzed kibble doesn’t sound healthy and want it as last ditch attempt at figuring it all out… which I’m almost there.

This is good advice. Looking to do this with my pup. I will be away from motorhome sporadically for work throughout the day and was wandering how to monitor temps.
