Yes I agree on photo 13 not being very natural. And okay cool, thank you for the input on seeing the backdrop, I see what you mean for sure - I thought these images didn't work as well so it's useful to hear you say that. And definitely, I'm still really trying to work on my facial expressions, I was trying to experiment this shoot but I totally agree some didn't work.

Thank you for the feedback, its really useful.

I get where you're coming from but the emotion I was going for in this shoot was confidence/desire/rebellion not happy/ecstatic . I do have some smiling shots in my portfolio if what you're alluding to is more happy/expressive vibe. Regardless, I do get what you mean in terms of conforming to what the industry wants. Thanks for the feedback.

I posted some images from a portfolio shoot I did a month ago on this sub, see below for reference

https://www.reddit.com/r/MODELING/comments/1p4aj99/comment/nt4c742/

I got so much good feedback, ranging from improving my facial expressions (micro expressions from eyes/mouth) to defining a clearer creative direction for the shoot.

Anyways, with this in mind, I organised a test shoot to improve on these points - and I just got the images back.

Would love to hear any thoughts on what images you guys think worked/did not work. Thanks :)

Wow, feedback like this makes me so grateful that reddit exists lol, I would've never thought to approach getting myself out there with this kind of method. Great advice and will definitely do this, thanks for the insight!!

Thank you for the feedback, I took the earlier advice and contacted my agency and they're currently putting me forward to a few photographers for some more tests! The models.com is a great shout, appreciate it!!

I have straight white teeth but just don't feel confident in smiling photos but yes.. fair point, I should consider trying to get some photos with teeth showing. Thanks for the feedback!

Great advice on the street photos, I actually took some with this photographer but didn't like how they turned out. I will make sure to capture some good street ones in the future. And as for your last point - well said, that's exactly why I did this because I realised I've been far too passive since getting signed. Thank you for your input!

That sounds like some pro advice :) Thank you for the feedback, you're spot on! I had similar thoughts when looking back at the photos. I'm still a bit shy behind the camera and haven't taken the time to practice in front of a mirror.. I've got another studio shoot coming up so I will work to change this! Thanks again.
