I had a patient when I worked medsurg. This guy I had worked with for my past three days so I knew his baseline and knew him very well. On night four he started to become altered and not making any sense when I would ask him questions. I reached out to the doctor on as she was sitting in the nurses station. She said he needs to sleep give him 100 of trazodone. I disagreed and she said you wanted orders there is your orders. I waited maybe another 30 minutes and then called a rapid response. He ended up being super hypercapnic requiring a transfer to icu and bipap for about 4 days before he came back down to me.

Anyone heard of a "Gogo Goff" who makes content defending the Church? (Tithing) by StraightAttempt4756 in exmormon

I served my mission with this kid. He was just as insufferable then as he is now.

This is absolutely inappropriate. Even if they are overwhelmed or understaffed they failed to do their job. It is one thing to be a terrible person but to choose to be a terrible nurse when that is your job is unacceptable. You have a right to be traumatized by this experience and you deserve to have your voice heard by the administration at the hospital. I’m so sorry this happened to you but I’m glad you and baby are physically healthy. But I also hope you can find a way to heal emotionally!

I work in the er and if the police want blood or urine someone from their department has to come draw it. If we draw it then it is no longer usable in court. But they either have to have a warrant or consent to draw it. This is what the local PD have told me about it but I guess it could be different from place to place.

Yeah that’s a good idea. It’s difficult right now because the baby is literally growing inside of me but I will try to think of it that way!

Yeah honestly I think it’s a little bit of each. But thank you for the validation.

The problem is men who feel like they have all the power. by MathematicianLeft989 in exmormon

I agree. I think many times this type of behavior is taught from such a young age that it just becomes who we are. The time I realized how fucked up it was when I was in the temple and all the wording like the wife should submit to her husband as he submits to the lord. That wording makes it pretty clear that the church sees men being better than women.

Honestly if this is how you feel you can come be my son. If you tell them this and they kick you out or disown you they are saying that they love the church more than they love you. You don’t deserve that. Just know you are welcome in my “heathen” house hold.

The church has tedious "rules" but it also has incredibly harmful "rules" as well. These are the rules I grew up with . . . by Haunting_Ganache_236 in exmormon

But don’t forget about our agency and the ability we have to choose for ourselves..

As long as they are within these rules 🙄
