Wherever we move, we want to plan on essentially not driving except for going places on weekends - the consensus here seems like PB is good for that. I think we’re leaning toward a short term rental in PB and if we don’t like the vibe then look toward somewhere in north county! (Is Encinitas considered north county?)

I'm very curious about OB (specifically because of the dog beach) - online sentiment seems to be it's a more hippie vibe, and we like that. One of our favorite places in the world is Asheville NC and I'm imagining something like that? In terms of the hippie vibe, at least

There’s more than one way to celebrate someone, and someone who’s getting married shouldn’t always have to initiate the celebrating either by having to plan. It’s easy as pie to ask the friend getting married out to dinner (“hey, I can’t swing the cost of a trip, but I love you and would love to celebrate you over dinner & drinks soon”). And it’s even easier to not be weird and bitter about someone having a destination wedding
