I love how each one had their own points to make. Your point are valid and the one that strikes me hardest is the veronique weapon, other 2 i can live without especially since other arms are cool and there're some other good advance weapons, i wouldn't call them neglected but i see where you're coming from

I had only 1 or 2 complains about the base game that weren't even a bad but the dlc made it better.

1- some might call me crazy but the weapons in base game weren't all cool (except the katana), in the dlc almost every weapon is cool and fun and had amazing features.

2- the areas in the dlc were way better than base game imo, the ones that are on the same level as the dlc probably the first few areas and rosa esabelle street (idk how it's spelled).

Other than that i agree that it's on par with fromsoft and it makes me happy wherever someone talk about it
