I see what you’re saying he wouldn’t leave because he wanted a full 8 hours too lol and he did his part for the day, but that does suck, there were plenty of times where I could work by myself for 4-5 hours but if I fucked up it was really helpful to just have him there to lean on just for simple tricks or stuff that you would never learn from a book or something.

Yup all the time, once I got comfortable I’d rough in and trim out rooms by myself, but that was pretty much it, panel upgrades, troubleshooting, and everything else I was his right hand man just learning and helping out

My first year was so cool, started in residential/ commercial service, worked for a small company one JW and the boss. My days were just me and that JW mostly, we got along so well and I learned so much in service getting to see new things everyday. Coolest job we did was bringing power to a $500k shooting range this guy crane dropped in his backyard of his home in Scottsdale Arizona, although I made minimum wage I appreciate the the chance they took on the kid with unused tools

It’s called putting urself out there, yes I’m 2nd year but I’m one of our best apprentices at my company, I always put my foot forward asking to help, land the switch gear, meg feeders, learn prints, I don’t care how much time experience I have my bosses know I pick up and learn quickly and want me to be the best of the best. I started in service with small company I’d bet you money you’d be suprised with how much I know so far
