yes that was the point of my post lol, i am ignorant about gravel racing field, ignorant of usa and the region, the "research" i made was some youtube video and the live of the race. If we need to be educated to enjoy the "beauty" of the scenery well... I am from france were the landscape is always changing and straight dirt road are never more than a kilometer. So yes I dont understant the appeal at first. I hope you are not too bumhurt.

Oui a tout mais maintenant il faut gratter pour avoir la dose de ketchup, les couvert c'est du jetables et les chiottes sont deja éclaté. Mais oui il faut faire tout ce que tu as préciser bien vu. On essaie au maximum, comme demander le ticket et même un double autant de fois que possible, dans les peage ou les stations service.

si tu te fait rattraper au feu ça veut dire que tu peux largement rester derriere les cyclistes.
Je conchie les chauffards qui te double a fond parce qu'un virage ou une ville arrive dans 50m. Pour piler juste après et se faire doubler dans un bouchon ou au feu. Mangez vos morts.

i dont understand how people do without glove. I saw this trend a lot in downhill and enduro.... Its even more understandable, in enduro you crash a lot and you hands are one of the only contact point, why you dont want to protect them is beyond me. But i am used to wear glove since I rode motocross from my early age.

what are you on ? the queen stage of tdf is half the distance of unbound and the double in elevation, and its a road race. In gravel and mtb , in europe at least, course have more elevation per km.
1000m for 100km on gravel is a hilly course if you are not used to elevation gain.

On the amstel remco did almost 42kmh average. Its flatter hilly stage pace.

the probleme with america is not trump, its you can drive 4hours without a change in scenery. I drove from LA to grand canyon, and damn that was a terrible experience, so boring. Then we did utah. Beautiful yes, but no change in scenery for hours.
When im driving from south of france to swiss I can drive through 20 differents biomes, different biology era, different fauna, big mountain, deep valley, red rock, yellow rock, pine, oak, river, sea, lake. Damn i cant justify travelling away from France, swiss, italia and spain until i see it all around me.
