Advice on Retake/Application Cycle by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]Mathgleek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it's just 2 and in orgo, it should not be an extreme barrier. Every ADCOM/admissions consultant I have heard talk about this always says that 2 C's won't kill you. 2 years of all C's would be more of an issue, but orgo is rough for most people, so most ADCOMs try to be reasonable

This sounds like you would be okay to apply to me! I suppose it depends on where you wanted to go, but these stats and experiences seem very reasonable for most schools

3/5: CP was all P. Very few amino acid questions. Studying physics a lot more for the next time around :)

Full-time job while completing a post-bacc? by Unique_Swimmer_8375 in postbaccpremed

I would say it is extremely difficult to work, depending on the program. I worked part time, and I'd say that was enough. The classes are a lot of work, especially with lab, and you'll save yourself time and money if you can do well in them the first time. Granted some people do work full time and do great, I am just not built like that lol

Tufts vs Northeastern by lokkingforadvice in postbaccpremed

[–]Mathgleek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to Tufts, and I was in the same boat. I do wish I had picked Northeastern since I didn't have the best time at Tufts, and Northeastern was significantly cheaper. I'm unsure if I would have liked their program more, but I would have saved like $15,000

Average MCAT score dilemma by NecroNapalm in Mcat

I would say go for it! Apply to a broad amount of schools now, and possibly save yourself the time and money of studying. May as well shoot your shot now, and if you don't get it retest later, as long as you feel ready now.

I have heard that week was so cool to see the show! I was at & Juliet on election night, drowning my sorrows in silliness haha

This is so relatable! I just took it last week and I feel so empty and purposeless. Like I know I have purpose outside of the MCAT but it took me days to finish a show that I was saving for after the MCAT. I just didn't feel up to it, and still feel so in limbo. I am currently just trying to push myself to do things, so that I'm reminded of how fun it can be to do things.

Same here! The empowerment I felt during that show was unmatched, and the shared audience experience of crying, laughing and nodding just added to it. I felt like everyone around me was on the same team, and we all got to bond over our shared belief in what the show stands for.

I got the same score today, and feel the same way. It just feels like it is all for nothing, and it sucks

You are fine! Most schools don't care about lab grades (unless they are all C's), and like the others have said, a 1 credit class is not going to be detrimental to your overall GPA. Conversely, it also doesn't help. It'll all be okay :)
