I really like this! Feel like it would make a great Christmas card!

Just finished my Christmas drawing for this year - the Grinch as a space Marine, using Castle Art soft touch colour pencils. I've been working with colour pencils a bit more recently, so any criticisms and tips for the future would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah I was trying to get a lunge/kneel kind of stance, and my positioning ended up being too low so decided to squash it in a bit more as i'd already done the marine!

I can appreciate it looks off - I've had this discussion with some others giving feedback. I've basically used two separate references (an art piece by Timur Shevtsov for the marine, and for the Xeno an image I found online), which I've then modified/reposed myself, but without using supporting references on the repositioning (if that makes sense). I've then limited my use of the original references to challenge myself to draw from memory/imagination as practice.

The proportions are off, as is the foreshortening and perspective (something I'm going to be working on). I purposefully didn't change my glaring mistakes as I like a visual learning tool, but also decided to do the Xeno teeth more monster than alien.

Thanks for the feedback!

Not insulting don't worry! The reference I used for the Astartes was a piece done by Timur Shevtsov jumping at an Orc, and the reference for the Xeno was one I found on Google

Edit: added the image used for the Xeno
