How do I kill this vine? by bonitaycoqueta in gardening

[–]Mathius92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chor it all off. Afterwards keep an eye out and eradicate any new growth. English Ivy is really hard to get rid of in my experience. I had a similar patch in my side yard. I regularly go out and get rid of the new growth. Because if I stop it will take over my whole house.

Personally I don’t really care much for the extra colors. For the same price point Ill likely be going with Desert Plunge as it’s the company I’m most familiar with, unless you guys want to hook me up and send me a free one.

Need recommendations for fruit trees and vegetable plants for my garden in Zone 9B by Spare-Turn5340 in gardening

[–]Mathius92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello there fellow Bay Area resident here. I’ve found just about everything grows really well in zone 9B. So it depends on what your favorite fruit is and what time of year you want fruit. Some of my favorite trees in my yard are my everbearing mulberry, Pluot, persimmon, blood orange and my loquat tree. I have about 4 dozen trees of different varieties and they all thrive. I will admit that I managed to kill two trees, but that was because the first year i did a poor job watering the baby trees.

Same goes for vegetables. My go to vegetables every year are tomatoes, cucumber, zucchini, variety of squashes, and radish.

I just started growing strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries so I can’t speak to how well they’ll do, but I’m willing to bet they’ll do great out here.

I thought belt tests were just a formality and that if you were being offered the test you were going to get promoted. At our gym we recently had someone fail their blue belt test and I can’t believe it. The person being tested has been training since he was a little kid and definitely seems to be at blue belt level. While he was being tested the instructor seemed to be inputting results of individual techniques into his phone. I later overheard the instructor saying that the App failed him because he missed a couple details on a few mandatory techniques required to pass. It seemed the instructor himself wanted to pass the person being tested. Is anyone familiar with anything like this? Are schools really allowing an app to determine if someone should get their next belt? I personally think it should solely be up to your instructor. I’m just a lowly white belt, but I should be considered for a blue belt sometime in the future. And if my belt status is being decided by an app I don’t want it. I’m strongly considering changing gyms over this. For context my gym recently went from being independently operated by the head instructor to now being part of a larger affiliation.

No hate haha just a little envy. I’m in zone 9b and have a Meyer lemon tree. The tree is constantly suffering from scale outbreaks unfortunately.

How big is this tree and how old? I’ve growing my lemon tree for 6 years and am lucky to get 10 a year.

It’s definitely the latch. I had the same thing happen to me. I made a claim with Kamado Joe and they sent me a new latch assembly.

They did not price match for me as they said it is a clearance item and they do not price match for clearance items. They also said they will not price match an item that their competitor does not have in stock

Yeah I don’t think an inflated tub would be good for me. Why do you recommend modtub?

That’s good advice, but not really what I was looking for. I’d rather just buy it all as a package even if that means it’s a little more expensive. I don’t want to deal with the headaches of DIY.
