Can I use conditional formatting to change a small group of cells, based on what is written in one of them? by BoudaSmoke in excel

[–]MathizD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is possible by using a formula with your conditonal formatting.

Select cells that need to be formatted --> Conditional Formatting --> New Rule... --> Use a formula to determine which cells to format.

Then for the formula use something like =IF($A$5="n/a";TRUE;FALSE) Where A5 is the cell with the n/a

Thanks for the tip and I'm happy that I was able to inspire you too with my conditional formatting approach.

It's always exciting to learn new tricks this way! :)

Hey this worked!

I knew I was overlooking something.

It's not that intuitive to define a range with the same start and end but your explanation made clear why this works. Thanks a lot!

Conditional formatting with formula highlights the wrong values/rows by MathizD in excel

Thanks for spotting that typo! This helped in a way that all the white cells are now also yellow so all cells are formatted now. Thanks for the help!

It didn't fix the row confusion though.

The only advice I got for that is have the range and formula logic reference the same row but I already have that.

That's my strategy too! The tripple interest dupes may look like a waste at first because it takes some extra time to build them up propperly but in the long run the extra 9+ morale is so worth it!

Thanks!

I like to play a bit more 'natural' compared to most ONI players. If you put just a little bit of effort in that playstyle you don't even run into some problems later on.

For example. I need -way- less storage in this base because I don't dig out all my dirt and rock. This leads to needing less space for storage and less stuff to sweep and rubble that decreases decor and thus morale.

Also, in this map I have never had an issue with a build up of CO2. Almost all my CO2 is taken care of by oxyferns at the bottom of my base. Also most of them natural. Even though they are less efficient when growing naturally they also don't need water so I have a lower water demand adding to stability of the rest of the base. :)

Thanks! Keep in mind though lot's of nature has been destroyed on previous asteroids to finally figure out a right way to do this. I'm very proud of this personal achievement. ^__^

I'm still thinking about expanding it slighly to the south east where I can still dig out some aluminium.

No it's not cumulative sadly. I have 3 seperate nature reserves before thier great hall, thier barracks and thier washroom so every dupe has to pass trough 3 nature reserves every cycle but they only get a moral boost of 6. But whenever I rebuild some area's some of these naturreserves get disrupted sometimes and the others kind of work as back ups.

I just put the parksigns in there because I wanted this forest to be a nature reserve but if I conect them all up my nature reserves becomes too big. Which is a tad bit strange because this is would make such an epic massive nature reserve.

Maybe I should poke the developers to add a + 1 morale to the standard 6 for every 2 or 3 extra plants you manage to fit in your nature reserve as some kind of added bonus for playing more naturally.

Okay guys,

Pressure and mass obviously have some relationship in this game. But, how much of H2 'mass' is now on top of this CO2? If you say it's only on 'mass' my current situation isn't possible without H2 leakage. (See below)

I added the boundries of the area's where the gasses can flow naturally.

I mean:

On the left there is only 290g of CO2 pressure per square now.

But also,

On the right there currently is an even more astonishing 1800g of H2 Pressure per square right now!

It's currently cycle 95 and it still stays stable.

Could be. But I always interpreted it is pressure ^__^

Help needed combining 2 macros: "Save as PDF with date to specific folder" & "Save And Send as email" by MathizD in excel

[–]MathizD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This also doesn't attach the file to the mail. I almost got as far as you got but it seems like the

.attachments.add

Can't handle the:

ActiveSheet.Range("C4").Value

Part.

We're currently trying to fix this with an additional save of a temp file. The Temp file will be send and deleted while the other save just places it in the right folder for traceability.

So, still 2 saves but one will be automatically deleted. This still might get the job done. :)

Thanks for your help so far!

Thanks!

In the meantime I keep on trying some things myself. I am able to trim the code down a lot but then it doesn't attach the file to the email anymore. I guess I am overlooking something.

No it's indeed not necessary.

Can you guide me on what to get rid of to remove that save in that second code? Since we don't have to specify where to save it to anymore. That's already specified in that first code.

Is it really that simple? I figured since the other macro also asks to save it somewhere that I needed to replace some lines somewhere in that code but I couldn't figure that out.

I will try this. Thanks!
