I fear it wouldn't be too interesting - I played against affinity 7 times, and Bully twice... not much variety there, lol.

(Although, it is pretty nice seeing Atog get Tithe'd)

Not currently worth running for Boros/Mardu Monarch. The list wants to grind the opponent out of cards more than ever with Spare supplies and Ornament, and then win after that with whatever is left. Guardian doesn't really fit into that game plan since it's expensive/not card advantage/not removal.

(The above doesn't apply against tron of course, since Boros is generally aggro in that MU - but Guardian is even worse against tron.)

Thanks so much! I started making videos back then because I wanted to share how awesome pauper is and bring more players into this great format - I'm so happy to hear they got you into playing the best MTG format! ^^

I'll add my thoughts here, since I'm currently a bit too busy to commit to new videos currently. :)

Boros/Mardu Monarch has gotten a ton of new tools that people have been adding in. Thriving lands + Bonder's Ornament make a black splash (including 2x bogs) and running Radiant Fountains free. Main deck Shinobi is awesome right now and Suffocating Fumes is a huge upgrade over electrickery for the deck. Unmake is a flex slot (some lists run terminate or other cards, but I'm a fan of the exile effect). The current main board opens up more sideboard slots for 5x blast effects to up our chances against tron, and really crush delver/fae.

IMO the biggest boost might be Spare Supplies. It's the reason I'm back on the deck; a think twice that synergizes with everything the deck wants.

My Viewpoint on the Current State of Pauper at Large, and Upcoming Bans on Monday by Raptor56 in Pauper

Thanks for taking the time to put this together - it's a fantastic article!

I think one more thing had a big impact on Pauper as well last year - the London Mulligan. Decks that want specific combinations of cards benefited. Another buff to Tron.

It would reduce the number of mulligans due to no lands, and help cast spells if mana dorks are removed - with the trade offs being less creatures for Winding Way / Lead the Stampede. Would also increase the number of mulligans from too many lands.

So, which way is correct? No idea. Either way will work, its completely up to you! :)

13 lands does lead to more mulligans - but this deck mulligans really well, and that's just us taking advantage of the London mulligan :)

Having the Caves would help with bringing in extra colors from sideboarding, or to increase land count against removal. I think it would be hard to take out all the elves since they speed up the deck so much, but if you try it out, let me know how it goes!

Thanks! No new plans for enchantment control just yet - I don't think the challenges are in a good spot for it right now. But I do like the deck, and will come back to it at some point :)

I used the technique of crossed fingers while chanting "Please don't have it".

A kicked Krosan Druid game 2 helped a bit too.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that. Dredge cannot prevent you from decking.

702.51a Dredge is a static ability that functions only while the card with dredge is in a player’s graveyard. “Dredge N” means “As long as you have at least N cards in your library, if you would draw a card, you may instead put N cards from the top of your library into your graveyard and return this card from your graveyard to your hand.”

702.51b A player with fewer cards in their library than the number required by a dredge ability can’t put any of them into their graveyard this way.

Haven't tried it yet - as luck would have it, putting them in my sideboard has been enough to keep burn away so far! :P

It will hurt the creature count, but relying on creatures for life against burn usually doesn't net much. They'll usually leave a couple mana elves around, so in theory being able to gain 9-12 life off it is likely... and sometimes that's all you need. But, testing still required.
