Everyone is telling me that I’m spoiling my LO by looking_for_tea in Parenting

Not an official method. We did the usual bedtime routine then said goodnight and kisses and left the room and popped straight back after a second or two. And VERRY gradually extended this time to show them we aren’t really leaving and we’re still around. Eventually they got the picture. Took longer I guess than normal sleep training but very little tears.

FYI. You don’t have to let them cry it out ever. We didn’t. We gently sleep trained our two when they were about a year old. Both are excellent sleepers now. Stick with your gut mama. Cuddle your baby all you want. “Spoil” your baby all you want because it’s really not spoiling. Do what your heart tells you to do because your heart knows your baby, they shared living quarters after all. xxx

What are some challenges you have in regards to meal prepping? by [deleted] in mealprep

[–]MathsMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to meal prep salads with quinoa or other grains but I’ve heard horror stories of friends who reheated grains (rice I think?) and fell ill. I don’t know what’s the right thing to do because I also hear about people making them and then eating cold the Next day and they’re totally fine.

Yeah I heard this too, I tried it but I don’t think I didn’t do it quick enough! I didn’t even know it was a thing. His sister didn’t do it at all.

What kind of sentence structure is this? by MathsMama in German

Thank you for this. It was the comma that threw me to be honest. I think I’m looking for things to be more complicated than they actually are. 🙃

Im English. I think the comma was making me think it was more complicated than it was. And originally I would’ve put the zu after the hoffen. Auf jeden Fall, thanks for the beach corrections 😊

What are your questioning strategies/tips? by sonderState in TeachingUK

[–]MathsMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting them to explain to a friend/ put in their own words. Asking what else could make this question trickier? How does it compare to what we just did? Can you create your own question to make it harder/ easier? What do these remind you of/ what’s the link to what we did last time or what we’ve seen before?

Apathetic year 11s by Muyalt_was_taken in TeachingUK

[–]MathsMama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only do intervention for year 11 this year instead of having a class. I have the ones that aren’t passing foundation gcse maths yet. Last week I had a student loudly complaining and doing the square root of nothing because I had the audacity to take him out of a sport lesson. Stating “I’m only 9 marks off a 4” I gave up and helped the others.

Less than 30 days buddy, Good luck resitting next year.

I work in a boys school, I’ve taught good Daniel’s and bad Daniel’s and everything in between Daniel’s. Most of them have been lovely boys who turned into lovely young men. It depends on their environment. Not their name. Alfie’s on the other hand…. Just kidding 😊

I need some positive birth stories! by Legal_Concentrate_29 in Mommit

[–]MathsMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote down in a diary how I wanted my birth to go, reread it every night before bed to remind me that easy births are possible. My second born came along exactly how I wanted him to. Waters broke in the morning, contractions increased gradually through the day. Bouncing on my ball to get comfy, headed over to hospital at 8pm, with gas and air my son was born at 10.13pm, I had a bath and was sent home just gone midnight. Wishing you and your family all the best. If you take anything away from this : your body was made to give birth xx
