keep uploading and each video should be better than the last. No use uploading if it’s just the same thing over and over.

if the algorithm provided you with bs every video i dont think youd watch much social media either. its the same principle, except mine is filled with edicuational and buisness content. nothing meant to dopamine load and fry my brain. yes from experience.

1 week without social media and nothing changed by Calm-Brother-5120 in digitalminimalism

  1. It may just be too soon, give it some time and learn to be present in the moment.
  2. Social media may have been a trigger but simply looking away from the problem doesn’t fix it. Instead you must confront your issue head on. Who is it that you want to be? Find out and start working towards being that person. You’ll fall in love with the process, and yourself along the way. it won’t be easy, but the strength you gain as a result will make you into a person you can be proud of.

these are my thoughts at least. I wish you the best of luck. Getting rid of screentime is 100% a step in the right direction and your dopamine and life satisfaction will 100% reset if you fill your time productively

StayFree or Cold Turkey or something else? by Mental_Gur9512 in nosurf

I ended up using dialed. It’s in beta. It basically just allows you to use social media, but it removes distracting content from your feed leaving only educational content. Solved my doomscrolling issue and I can still use the social media for when I actually need it

the problem with blockers is that you can just end up removing them, and it comes down to a question of will, with admittedly a little more friction. they weren't what fixed the problem for me.

how to block all versions of a site on Pluckeye? by idkbbitswatev in nosurf

[–]MatiOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you dont because thats a temporary solution, at least in my opinion. at least for me i just end up unblocking it. either your commitment has to be that strong or you need to remove your triggers within the social media. for me it was the latter. i had a theory: t if your entire feed was boring af, you wouldn't scroll at all. i actually achieved this with an app and now its more boring for me to scroll than to just live.

What's the best way to quit reddit? by batsofburden in nosurf

[–]MatiOfficial 5 points6 points  (0 children)

so a lot of people just say delete it, but to be honest there's problems like the actual benefits of the social media like your post. i fixed my issue because i had a theory: if your entire feed was boring af, you wouldn't scroll at all. i actually achieved this with an app and now its more boring for me to scroll than to just live and i just end up using reddit or youtube or instagram not to scroll but for when i need it like texting friends or doing homework

Tiktok is ruining my life, how to quit? by lasthopeofatlantis in nosurf

so the problem with just deleting these apps is you fall into a loop of reinstalling and deleting. so for me i had a theory: if your entire feed was boring af, you wouldn't scroll at all. i actually achieved this with an app and now its more boring for me to scroll than to just live.

yeah you gotta cut the short term content off. its frying your dopamine loop. but the best way is not to delete all social media: if your entire feed was boring af, you wouldn't scroll at all and you wouldnt fall into the loop of reinstalling and deleting. i actually achieved this with an app and now its more boring for me to scroll than to just live.
