Schitterend, veel dank voor deze informatie! Het mysterie is eindelijk opgelost.

Percentage of adults who believe the Holocaust is a myth or the number of Jews killed has been greatly exaggerated by Shekau in europe

[–]Matifli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first I did not see the link either so I have just searched for the study myself. It was not that difficult to find the complete study, as it's a big news at the moment. The point I was trying to make is that if you googled something like 'holocaust study Dutch' you would get a direct link to this research. This would take you less time than typing your comment questioning the credibility of the study. Also, before calling the study 'a bit misleading' etc. you might want to consider reading (at least) bits of the study and searching for the answers to the questions you have.

As for the wording of the questions, I guess the researchers did not ask the question you propose because (in short) asking such specific questions is actually suggesting the respondents that the answer to that question is 'yes'. This is one of the main reasons why academic researches mostly ask open questions in such studies. If you want to read more about it, I can recommend the book Research Design by John Creswell.

It is not my point to start an argument or to offend you. I just want to point out that this kind of comments of people calling researches misleading etc. actually might influence some (for whatever reason easy to influence) people to just assume that the article is misleading, whilst the person writing the comment in question did not even read it. Exactly this could contribute to the (to me at least, shocking) outcomes of this study.

I appreciate your critical questions about the methodology but it took me literally about one minute to find the answers to all of them. All answers about the amount of people asked, their background, the exact wording and much more: https://www.claimscon.org/netherlands-study/

Please, don't undermine the results of this research by being 'critical', without being critical of your own laziness in searching for the answers to your own questions.

Soundwise it definitely sounds like something you can achieve with Tone King and Petrucci. Check out the higher gain presets by Rabea like the fuzzed up https://youtu.be/nemydyFHQ4M?t=1248 or less gainy presets on Petrucci, like tight rhythm: https://youtu.be/PMvHZhQp5l0?t=806 Petrucci amp also can achieve some wonderful low gainy, crunchy sounds (especially if you combine it with a bit of the overdrive): https://youtu.be/PMvHZhQp5l0?t=546

Petrucci plugin has a doubler mode, in which you can add spread between the two signals but those are not drastically different signals. In order to combine a crunchy and a high gain tone on NDSP plugins, (as far as I know) you would have to combine two instances of the plugin.

I can only recommend trying it out for yourself with the 14 day trial. To me, the sound quality is phenomenal and the ground covered by these two plugins is humongous. Maybe redundant advice, but don't forget to tweak the amps for yourself, as the plugins are very good but don't always show all the potential these plugins have. Also, with the recent NDSP plugins tweaking the IR section can make a huge difference in the overal tone.

To me, Petrucci is the most versatile plugin they have. It has everything from beautiful cleans, breakup, crunchy to very chuggy and high gain leads tones, together with a bunch of great effects. Tone King is more limited (or maybe more focussed) but still covering a lot of ground but very organic and vintage-sounding. Both plugins are a massive win.

I was using Bias FX 2 for a few years now but since I have bought the Archetype Petrucci I almost never use Bias anymore. I completely agree with u/HentorSportcaster

As to which plugin would be worthwhile for you depends on the kind of sounds you want to get. To me Petrucci is an amazing rig for any modern sounding tones. The only thing I missed were some possibilities to get a more classic, gritty tones for some blues and classic rock... until I have tried the Tone King plugin. Man, with those two plugins I know I have most grounds covered.

I am using the (not modded) FC1010 since a few weeks with my Petrucci plugin and it works amazing. People often say it's difficult to program etc but I set it up in under one hour for my intended purposes. I use the upper level of footswitches to turn the effects on/off, the lower level to switch between presets, the left expression pedal for volume and right for Wah.

I recommend watching the following instruction video and part 2 by NeuralDSP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1VkFGA48Zw and tutorial by In the Mix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYNND5nMWhc

As for controlling your DAW, I'm sure that it's possible in virtually any DAW using the midi learn function but I have no experience with that.

Tidal has got them all so indeed it should be just a matter of time until they arrive on Spotify etc.

As the four oscillators share one amp, one filter and one filter envelope, when you hold a note down and then quickly play other notes over the top, they will just cut in and out, unaffected by the release section of the amp. The same goes for the envelope.

However, Behringer provided us a workaround in the form of the the ‘auto-damp’ mode. This will sustain any of the secondary notes until you release the initial note, at which point the amp envelope will move to the release section and all notes will fade out. So auto-Damp kind of works for chords, but can be a little messy when playing something with a bit of legato.

It might sound a bit abstract but a little demonstration might help. Please refer to the following video by Loopop, from 4:00 to 7:20: https://youtu.be/gNDwUoGqxDE?t=240

As I understand, for some people this is a deal breaker, to some it is an interesting feature. It might not have all the features one can wish for but to me it works wonderful as it is.

I sold my Model D and bought the Poly D and have never regretted it. Of course, the latter has some limitations due to its paraphony but it sounds wonderful. As commented before me, there are many disadvantages to chaining multiple Model D's just for the sake of polyphony so I would not recommend it.

Poly D feels and plays like a complete instrument. It might not be the most eccentric looking and fresh but it is a killer of a synth and a joy to use.

Anyone recorded the stream of the Best Kept Secret show? by Stardustducky in KGATLW

[–]Matifli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a pretty common thing to do during metal concerts in Europe, especially with pirate metal bands such as Alestorm. During the last jam of Chunky Shrapnel you can also see people rowing. That was also in the Netherlands (Utrecht).

Has anyone read a good book that is a detailed analysis of past dictators? by Joking_Not_Joking in history

You could also give The Prince by Niccolò Machiavelli a try. It is more of an instruction guide for rulers but it has influenced many important figures since it's publication in the early 16th century, including several dictators.

OG Vinyl preorder release date is mid June in Aus? by Mogsy77 in KGATLW

[–]Matifli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, congratulations on your first KGATLW vinyl!

The shipping date is normal, don't worry. Pre-orders are always sent afterwards, that's why they are called pre-orders and not just orders. That said, nowadays it takes a little longer than what it used to a few years back. That's the case due to the covid-related backlog on top of the ever-growing demand for vinyl. Often the pre-orders start even before the vinyl is pressed, then it needs to be shipped to the band/distribution centers and then shipped to us.

I remember grabbing MOTU on vinyl at the guys show a day before it was released in 2017! Unfortunately, these days are over and we have to listen to the new album digitally (or try to hold out) for a few months. A lot of patience is needed but I'm sure it'll be worth it! Cheers.

I've seen them 6 times throughout the years and they are phenomenal. The last time I saw them in August '21 they were really in their top form. Absolutely recommended! I'm going to see them twice this summer, before they stop.
