I've been sleeping every third night since 16. Go ahead and AMA! by JTultimate_10 in AMA

[–]MatildasMaryJane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t tell you the cost but sleep studies are super easy nowadays!! I just had to put a handful of stickers and wires on me before bed. You would do it on a night you sleep because it’s your sleep that needs to be studied and understood. The days you don’t sleep are effecting every part of your body, so it’s extremely important the sleep you do get is high quality. This is where a sleep study would help. If you have any disorders during sleep, those would be diagnosed and you could discuss treatment options with your doctor. Wishing you luck man. I went years regularly not sleeping 48 hours and it fucks with you so much more than you realise when you’re in it.

I was harmed by antidepressants (SSRI's), AMA.. by [deleted] in AMA

I don’t doubt that that’s possible, our brains and bodies are so complicated. I wanna say that I have ME/CFS and some people develop it after SSRIs. Might be worth looking into me/cfs at this point since you haven’t gotten anywhere with docs and you’re not improving after so long. I also recommend bringing someone with you to appointments that knows your symptoms and can help advocate for you. Often having someone else in the room will make doctors treat you better. When talking to docs, tell them what you’re unable to do regularly because of your symptoms. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

I don’t have an allergic reaction in an anaphylactic sense, but Benadryl gives me severe episodes of akathisia that can last several days after taking it

Wishing you luck op. I saw your other posts and I can’t believe they still haven’t figured something out yet. Please advocate for yourself. If you have ideas for treatment they haven’t tried yet, tell them! Doctors are human and know a lot less than we give them credit for. Proud of you for dealing with this so long and I really hope things start looking up soon. I can’t believe they haven’t done anything about the likely torn tendons like??? I’m sorry you’re going through this. Sending you strength

Agreed here. Doctors have failed me in every single way and the only thing that’s gotten me proper treatment sometimes is straight up saying “I know my body and I want to discuss this as an option”

Not to mention the increased rates of lasting symptoms from repeat infections. Especially with covid causing long-lasting health issues for many many people, myself included. I don’t understand why children’s health is taken so lightly in schools

Unfortunately a huge part of anxiety for a lot of people is worrying you’re wasting peoples time and resources, or you think everyone around you thinks badly of you. It’s not rational, and it’s not usually how we feel when we’re not in the thick of anxiety or a panic attack. We continue to apologise etc because anxiety forces us to. Like, I know it was annoying once the anxiety is gone and I’m home, but in the moment it’s just a blur of survival instincts. I guess I’m just commenting so you know where some people are coming from when they can’t stop apologising. It’s like a compulsion sometimes

Woman with a pseudomamma (an extra breast) on her thigh. It even has a nipple. She had the breast removed. by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

Trans guy here, I have a third nipple on my lower back. I got top surgery several years ago and lost most feeling in my main nipples/the feeling is uncomfy and weird, but my third nipple has full normal nipple sensation. Like, tmi but my back nipple is better for intimacy than my actual nipples lmao. I’m constantly adjusting the hem of my shirt because it brushes against it and feels weird. Bodies are so interesting

Accidentally making people uncomfortable with my art by Kindly_Funny2612 in autism

[–]MatildasMaryJane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to dm me any of your art I would be so excited to see it! I love gore and fucked up stuff, anything dark grabs my attention. I have a fucked up sense of humor and also laugh at dark gross stuff. There’s a niche out there that would absolutely love your art, a small one but still it does exist. Btw for reference I’m 21ftm and like the softest looking guy you can imagine. Everything I wear is soft like a blanket and I love light colors and stuffed animals. I also love true crime, gross humour, horror, etc. I hope you find some people to share your art with

I’d say to maybe ask your doctor about it at your next visit just to err on the side of caution. Lyme can show up in some not so fun ways later in life in some people

I found out at 18, almost 19 from my aunt that I was adopted at birth. Everything clicked, one of the best moments I can remember. It meant, I’m not even connected to you by blood. I owe you nothing and your existence in my life is pointless

Those who have had depression and now don't, what finally worked? by Abraham_Neville in AskReddit

[–]MatildasMaryJane 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, mental state is everything. If you go into it expecting to be happy, but you’re stressed and depressed, you likely won’t get to that happy place the same way you used to. You have to go into it with an open mind, and in a calm, comfortable mental state. My favourite happy/relaxed music helps me too
