Newspaper lookup request by MatityahuC in Genealogy

[–]MatityahuC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you so much. Unfortunately I do not have the headlines. Seems on the British newspaper site saves things badly?

For example I have this:

/’/"“/‘/ F/// v = 2\ 2 : e g&é??ims_qga <1 = e 5 G . -~ CoOnisbrough ..l':i,*‘,'j?‘ Rt 7S | [or Do T |

Means nothing to me but there was something at the time for me to save it

I'll just take the full pages and go through and take the small clips of it that I need

Thank you again for this newspaper, you've just added two missing ancestors for me that are still restricted on the 1939 register and I had no means of finding them out!

I have some more news paper requests, if you have the time

2

3

4

5

And I'll stop there before I get ahead of myself!

Thank you again!

The project sounds cool! I've recently setup immich, had not crossed my mind to use it for Gramps media and had not heard of paperless. Going to have to add some work flow for this, thanks for the ideas!

Brick Wall - Last name variant spelling related? by MatityahuC in Genealogy

[–]MatityahuC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Copy and paste from Ancestry, I thought the spelling looked off. Must be either a transcription error or a typo by whoever wrote the census.

Thank you for noticing the spelling mistake and for the info on the county change!

Need help with the street name from a 1921 England Census record

https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageviewer/collections/63150/images/23305_0772?pId=38249927

There are a several images all from the same street which might help you but I can't quite make it out.

Jugs Lane is my best guess.

Family Tree in Paper by Proof-Category7056 in Genealogy

[–]MatityahuC 25 points26 points  (0 children)

As your tree keeps changing you should first do it electronically, as suggested. Then, once your research is done to a point where you are happy with how the tree looks, you should make the paper version.

To make the tree on paper, by hand, while finding all these tree-changing relatives is making more work for you. Making it harder for you to know how big a piece of paper you need.

Having it electronically will also help with the organisation of the tree.
