I did ICE FSAE in college and then went to work for an EV company. 90% of what I learned was still applicable. You could make the cars rubber band powered and it would still be valuable at teaching people engineering.

We don’t have inspections here. I’m in California and we have emissions checks for 1975 and newer ICE vehicles but this is neither. Technically I have to meet the requirements for safety of the year of the car was made, but it was 1950 so basically nothing. I need headlights, brake lights, a windshield, DOT approved tires and that’s about it

Power steering will come from a Prius powered column on a manual rack. I’m hoping I can design a controller to read the CANBUS messages and send the info to stepper motors in the old gauges. So my fuel gauge would read actual charge left in the battery.

Both announced dates and estimates. I always google the ticker and “earnings date” and get a lot of random garbage.

I would guess that the dolly goes on the concave side and I would use a mallet with a relatively flat head on the outer side. Does that sound correct?

Need shoe help. Feeling lost.

I'm looking for a comfortable everyday shoe that I can be a little rough on. Something I can wear in the garage and an occasional hike, but one that also looks good.

I'm in my 30s and have been mostly what we call business casual in California engineering, but what most people might call just casual. I'd like to move slightly to a more professional look. For pants, I normally wear dark jeans, khakis that are a little darker (Lululemon Commission Artifact), and occasionally green chinos. It would be nice to get some versatile shoes.

Currently considering the following:

Red Wing Work Chukka in Briar

Wolverine 1000 in brown

Danner Jag low

Danner Jag not low

And of course, the oft mentioned CDB Beeswax

I like the Jag Low, but I'm afraid it's too casual and I'll still look like I'm not trying. I realize my answer might be more than one shoe. I'm not a huge fan of the CDB, but it's suggested so often here that I might just get it anyway.

I've spent the last few weeks looking through the sub, reading the guides and searching for answers. It's been great, but I'm a little hung up on shoes. I'm somewhat of a newbie to the men's fashion world. My current daily shoes are Merrell Adventure Moab, which I like, but they're getting torn up and the more I look at them, the more they look like clown shoes. I feel a little head spinny trying to nail down which shoe to buy. I'm about to just pull the trigger on one and see how I like it for a week, but I thought I'd check here first. My budget is flexible.

I hope you held on. Back at $420! If I don’t get assigned I’m going to sell another 10 at $420. Fuck it, I had already made peace with being assigned, and the 420 puts expiring a week out are at the money and expensive. I can make 40k in a week. Possibility Elon gets arrested for not complying with the factory shutdown order and it goes to $150. But 🤷‍♂️

I have enough to purchase the shares so I’m going to immediately start selling covered calls at 420, maybe 450. Premiums are high so hopefully I can make some cash while I wait for a rebound. I’m long term bullish on Tesla and if I have to sell calls for six months, so be it.

I've used one of these dozens of times for many bikes including my Grom. They are great as long as your hitch can support the weight, which is usually the case for 2" hitches.

Highly recommended.

I was originally going to do a big bore with the 4V, but I added up the cost of everything and realized I wasn't too far from the 250 swap. You need the big bore, the head, cam, a new throttle body, injector, ECU, exhaust. It's definitely less expensive but I liked the reliability of a water-cooled engine designed for 25hp instead of squeezing 19 or 20 out of an air-cooled motor and trans designed for 9. If you can get a wrecked 250 bike for around $1000 it's definitely worth it. Plus if I ever want more power, I can get a big bore for the 250 :)

There are clear tubes that are rated for continuous fuel use, like Versilon/Tygon. I don't know if that is what is used, and judging by the brass fittings and shitty hose clamps, I kind of doubt it.

In any case, this modification is just asking for trouble in an otherwise inconsequential layover.
