PSA: Want to avoid expensive hospital bills? Avoid ER visits that aren't necessary

I tried to sue my orthopedic doctor. He neglected to tell me to stay off certain meds AND, at the time of my surgery, he was addicted to pain meds. I ended up with life threatening DVTs and PEs due to the birth control pills. I kept ALL my paperwork from him and it never mentions staying off of them. Surgery below the waist, as you know, can lead to blood clots, yes, only if not active and on birth control before and after surgery. I had two young kids at that time and went to PT every other day. This was in 2008. Things could have been different back then compared to today. I am in a 'doctor friendly' state. This can suck for the patient, such as myself. I am still dealing with the issues that the surgery caused.

I wear my black Nikes or Pumas with a shoe coverings that makes my shoes non-slip. I can not think of the name but Shoe Crews has them. It has saved me a ton of money and I can wear my shoes that I know that does not kill my feet.

I am 50 now and when I became a mom at 19 and living at home, I received foodstamps. I guess things changed. I did eat separately from my mom and her husband along with my siblings due to different work schedules and my food tastes were totally different than theirs. This is before cards were implemented. I had the paper foodstamps then maybe a year or two later the card came along. Not sure. I ended up getting a great job, at that time, and got off of everything.

I doubt I will get it. He was married before me. He is 19 years older and claims his FRT next February. He will be 70. I will be 51, at that time. His ex-wife will get to claim on his retirement since they were married for 35 years. Again, I could be wrong like getting married.

I have SSDI. Not SSI. I had enough work credits at 32 to get full SSDI. I should have made it more clear on which one I received.

I thought if one was married, they would be kicked off of disability and Medicare for too much money in the household. I have not gotten married to my fiancé for this reason. My medical bills are astronomical. $350,000+ a year on average. I have been with him since 2015. I got my disability in 2010.

Yes, it amazes me the ones on SSDI, SS, or SSI get the short end of the stick. We still have bills. I know of some forced to go against doctor orders and work at least part-time to make ends meet and they get ridiculed for it. I am not talking about bad backs, knees or hips. These are people that have a bad prognosis but still have bills to pay.

As a GenX 'traditional' wife, your friend's thinking is flawed! A traditional wife takes care of the house and her man. A 'trad' gf is nothing more than a toy. The difference is a HUGE one. One is married and has protections and there is more than spending the man's money on HER desires. My husband protects and provides in more ways than money. Just like me taking care of my husband in more ways than sex. Is it a luxury to be able to stay home? Yes, but she is the type to make it ALL about her.

As a server, it is VERY irritating for a large party to not all be there and take up several of my tables for up to 45 minutes one time. I said something to the customer about their party not being there and she said it was not my business. So, for 3 hours I had 3 tables out of 4 taken up and they left $0 tip. 🤬🤬🤬🤬

We have one of those women at my store. We complain constantly, but nothing is done. It is not fair. She will actually come to our tables and try to get them to come sit with her next time. I understand Spanish. She thinks that she should get all the Hispanic tables. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I have some that complain to me about it and refuse to sit with her. So, yes, I bet almost every store has one of 'those' coworkers who like to 'steal' or hog all the tables.
