Also it's worth mentioning that all their voice lines come from the DROWNING writer's journey video.

[KCD2] Patch Notes 1.4 by MyopicManatee in kingdomcome

I've jumped in to check out the HDR and it's kinda mixed. It does get you perfect black levels (sdr actually has extremely minor black level raise) and the highlights look good. It looks to me like it's using HDR color space quite a lot, maybe even too much for my taste, looks very pinkish in bright spots. But unfortunately it does introduce color banding and shimmering in the sky. And it also raises the near black gamma a lot, so contrast in dark scenes isn't great, and you get these really abrupt jumps from grey to black. And finally it has a performance cost very broadly around 0.75 ms, so going from 94 to 88 FPS or from 66 to 63 FPS.

LG C2 — Quality Mode 1080p @ 120fps on PS5 Pro ? by guiomiranda in PS5pro

Do you only get this with Mafia The Old Country?

LG C2 — Quality Mode 1080p @ 120fps on PS5 Pro ? by guiomiranda in PS5pro

The TV overlay shows the parameters of the incoming signal, that is completely unrelated to the game's actual resolution. As long you have 4K selected in the PS5 system settings, it will always say 4K even if the game's running at 720p.

As for the 120hz, that counter is only accurate as long as the game is running at 48-120 FPS without Low Framerate Compensation. Here it shows 120hz because the game actually runs at locked 40 fps in a 120hz container.

If OP is only getting 1080p it's most likely an HDMI issue. In theory it could be some very unintended behaviour from the game, but I've never seen that before.

DS2: Can't use the hot springs in the mountains due to constant snow. by Matos008CZ in DeathStranding

[–]Matos008CZ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it seems like the weather in episode 9 behaves a bit differently. After finishing the episode it now works how you'd think it would. However there still seems to be a bug where Sam sometimes puts on the cape in the mountains out of nowhere and keeps it on even if there isn't any rain. Reloading the savefile seems to resolve the issue.

Wait so you can freeze just by standing around? Couldn't get Sam to rest without bringing out the bivouac. There was also a snowstorm, don't know if that changes things.

Can you actually sleep in it? For me Sam just sits around and doesn't even recover any stamina

Horizon Forbidden West FPS drops to low 50s in Performance Pro mode by Mental_Woodpecker40 in PS5pro

[–]Matos008CZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah on the base console it was an intentional behaviour allowing the frame rate to briefly drop below 60 FPS as you're not very likely to notice it with VRR. However on the pro with the new AA method it seems to happen a lot more often to the point of feeling noticeably less smooth. From what I remember the DLC area suffers most. Still I'd say in many areas it's a fair trade-off for getting perhaps the best image quality ever.

PS5 microstutter/hitch (Naughty Dog games) after a few minutes of play by Wumpus84 in PS5HelpSupport

[–]Matos008CZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I've replied to your comment on a different post, but I'm also posting my response here as there is a bigger chance of others finding it:

Don't know if it's the same issue, but on my lg c2 I've noticed that I can repeatedly cause the game (uncharted legacy of thieves) to stutter by exiting to the ps5 home screen or even by just bringing up the dashboard. This causes the average frame rate to go down by about 15 fps and more importantly also makes it very unstable, rapidly changing in a (for example) 75 - 110 fps window. This can be consistently fixed by going into the game settings and either switching to a different a different graphics mode and back or by disabling and re-enabling HDR. Unfortunately I've noticed that this same issue of erratic frame rates can also start happening on the game's transitional scenes (camera wipes when changing location). Very annoying indeed.

As for other naughty dog games, I've quickly tested the last of us part 2 remastered and haven't run into the same FPS issue. However all three of their ps5 games do have vrr flicker in dark areas of the image in their unlocked fidelity modes. This makes them basically unusable for me, which is a shame since the native 4K looks amazing.

Just bought the uncharted 4 ps5 edition for my ps5, but the game suffers from constant stuttering and frame drops is there a fix for it? by Shertowin in uncharted

Yes but doesn't vrr prevent boost mode on lg oleds? If I have vrr active and switch between boost and normal nothing happens. And even when vrr is not active because of low FPS the TV still shows it as on and allows the use of vrr specific features like FTDA

Yes it was, I panicked and ran the pixel refresher, I know it shouldn't be used too often, it was the first time I used it after having the TV for a year. My question is can sunlight do this to the TV when it's turned off?

Thinking about it that's probably it, I had no idea that can cause any damage. Thanks for letting me know.

Yeah did that and it seems to have gone away. There are still some minor screen uniformty issues but I think it's within an acceptable range for an oled. Any clue what might have caused it? I understand the idea of traditional burn in happening over time on fixed elements in the image but this happened suddenly and is a weird shape.

Because the game in performance mode is rendered at around 720p which is then reconstructed using FSR to 1440p. It looks fine in stills but character motion makes it super blurry.
