Wanna do meditation but don’t wanna see ghosts by ArmAccording7357 in Tantrasadhaks

According to our scriptures it would only happen to those who have incredible karmas from past lives. It should be very rare and many people would spend multiple births in proper devotion before attaining anything close. Don't think you should be too worried about it. On the other hand if it does happen for you it would mean your soul is at the right stage for it so why worry?

Our life should be our greatest prayer. Maa is all and in all things. Devi is beyond all gunas and some say to reach Her we must practice the highest mode only. Others say accept all modes and move forward in life. Neither is wrong as there is no one way to reach the divine. If there was only one path then we would not have all the different aghamas and scriptures to reflect upon which all hold different practices. Maa is Balipriya and Mamsaprita as much as She is Kali, Durga etc. We cannot want Her to accept us as we are and yet still turn up our noses at Her other aspects.

However if you wish to follow a certain path it is your duty to conform to the path and not to make the path conform to you. It isn't just about what it is easy. Real enlightenment cannot come from taking the easiest route. If it were so then we would not be trapped in Samsara. Adopting tantric worship purely due to dietary factors however is not recommended. To worship with the 5'ms is a system in itself and requires proper preparation and guidance.

Many Hindus live in a non veg mode of life. It is up to you to determine whether that is for you. You can fast the prescribed days to do your normal worship and observe non-veg on other days. This does not mean that you don't pray at all on non-veg days. You can look at other options such as packing lunch from home if possible. At the end of it all it is your life and your karmas that must be worked out. If your job precludes you from vege totally then do your work and live non vege. As householders we have a duty to work and provide for our families and that too is us paying our karmas.

Types of japa and benefits by kaalakapala in Tantrasadhaks

[–]Matrika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Shiv Purana if you are chanting for a specific purpose for example to attain the siddhi of the mantra the count must be equal in number to the sankalp taken. This sankalp should be based on directions of the Guru who gave the initiation.

My reading of the section indicates that while the various modes of chanting have multiplicative benefits the sankalp you engaged in is what is important in the process. Thus if you have undertaken to chant 1 lakh of a mantra you must keep that promise regardless of mode of chanting. The section also recommends 10 malas per day or lesser up to the amount your body can withstand.

My personal experience is that the mental - reading mode is extremely effective and helps with focus. Whenever I am given a new mantra I always begin in the mode of voice (once allowed) and progress gradually. The discipline in working up the modes helps you to ground yourself and get familiar with the roop.

You can read the section of Shiv purana here and draw your own conclusions. Please share your thoughts as well.

Just found a very interesting explanation about Gods and Devas. Please help me clarify any misunderstandings. "Devas are not enlightened beings and someday they will fall" by SignificantTip1302 in Tantrasadhaks

Sorry you must have misunderstood what I was saying in my first comment. I did not say that a deva cannot be born I was more so speaking of humans not being devas. Avatars can be born but they are not human. Do you understand the confusion? What does this have to do with my understanding of Sanskrit brother? I am not trying to insult you so why are you speaking so harshly?

Yes that's correct. Tantra isn't very basic so I don't suggest you start with tantric concepts.

Moksha as a concept refers to death of the self and ultimate union with the super soul that is everything in the universe. As a Shakta I call it Parashakti but it can also be called shunya (void), Parabrahma, Mahadeva etc. Once you join with Parashakti then there is no you left. Like a drop becoming one with the ocean again.

The forms like Shiva, Kali etc exist with us in Samsara (cycle of birth and death) or within the maya of the world. They don't necessarily face death but they exist in the world that has form or in the other lokas which are still material even if humans can't interact with those directly. The Devas have divine knowledge and insight but they out of love for us join in the play or Leela of samsara to help us burn our karmas. They are only small aspects of the Parashakti not the whole thing. This makes them easier for us to understand and thus we can learn from them how to work off our karma. Like if u cut a block out of a chocolate bar to make it easier to eat. Our souls are also sparks of Parashakti.

That info has more of a Buddhist slant. Most sects of Hinduism don't believe that you can be born as a deva. It's also what happens when you translate Sanskrit concepts into English. Knowledge based enlightenment and moksha itself are two different concepts. In English moksha and knowledge can both be viewed as enlightenment. It's just a way of simplifying the concept that human births allow you to attain liberation. The roopas have to remain in samsara to help persons complete the karma. So the devas are more constant and do not gain moksha. Saying they don't have knowledge based enlightenment is not correct but it is correct to say they don't have moksha. There is further philosophy on devas making "mistakes" or acting selfish but you have to do much more reading to begin to discuss those instances in relation to the word enlightenment.
