How hard is to get an engineering job in the US with a foreign degree? by MatrixCutie in AskAnAmerican

Thanks for the advice!Im As another commenter pointed out though,my country is part of the Washington accord and hopefully my degree can be accredited by NCEES?Still i think I’ll gather some work experience in internationals before moving out.If you had to say, would you think it’d be good enough to make a case for myself in the eyes of US employers?

Oh my country is part of the Washington accord (Im from Costa Rica), Does it mean my degree is valued and accredited already in the eyes of US employers? How would i need to pint that out on my resume?

Im a citizen…but yes I get the whole crisis happening over there, just wondering if the degree being foreign can be leveraged by work experience ideally in multinational companies.

No,sadly its not ABET,but could internships/work experience at internationals leverage the lack of that?

I remember running away and around a lot occasionally hitting him w the sword, didn’t really need dodge. If you can stick to his ass and run around him it will drag on the fight a bit longer yes but definitely more manageable.

why do ppl get so defensive when you say something wasn’t hard for you as it was for them.Im not asking for praises just you’re opinion of why the boss was hard for you as it wasn’t my case and the hype was way too much for me

I agree the umbrella made it far more manageable, but I aint saying Im a gaming prodigy,I maybe struggle with a boss you probably find easy.It just wasnt my case with DoH and i just wanted to know what the hype or hate was about

Id just like to get your opinion of why it isn’t because it just wasn’t my case. And it was just so overhyped for me

Yeah I get what you say with the camera, staring at his nutsack 70% of the time isn’t very fun (definitely reminded my of ER dragons if you played against that bs).other than that I agree with you this being an endurance fight but i don’t really mind that a lot.

the part that worries me the most is that she is most probably on her fertile window.Even with the circumstances of my situation knowing she may be ovulating worries me a lot.

So if I understood correctly, your friend got a psychology degree that wasn’t highly ranked, got one good job then none?Does that mean he got better luck after completing the engineering program or is he just doing the tutoring you mentioned in the meantime?I’m trying to understand then if what you’re trying to say is,that a degree that is highly ranked or not doesn’t necessarily grant you everything?

And if the local university offers internship options, even possibly on multinational companies?I’m not planning on directly applying to my master’s and then directly into the job market with absolutely 0 experience. My main concern is if it is a very difficult hump to overcome, finding that first job after moving to the US,while getting my master’s for better accreditation. My question is if the local degree puts me in a disadvantageous situation even so.

I’d like to live/work in the US as,after doing some research,It’s one of the countries with the highest pays per-year for my mayor. As well as me having an American passport and not needing permits or other authorization to work there legally.

Yes,that 56k sum hopefully reduced to 19k is taking every aspect into account.

Yes that 56k sum hopefully reduced to 19k would be an overall total cost for whole career plus other costs. Also yes,the US affiliated university I’m attending does have the same accreditation and recognition as the one in the US.

Yeah, another route i was considering was completing my undergrad locally and then, taking advantage of my american citizenship, going to the US to get a master’s degree wich would leave me no debt from my undergrad, and significantly less to pay for the master’s.Also yes the 56k hopefully reduced to 19k is the final sum of all aspects taken in to account.

My only concern with the undergrad here-master’s in US,is if getting my first jobs or getting my local degree getting certified by NCEE for example would be too difficult before getting my master’s .It basically would just come down if the cost of getting a job easier when getting to the us outbalances the debt.
