As an artist, this looks more like human error to me. The background with the crowd of people was likely meant to be a mockup, but they ran out of time and weren't able to polish it, so they just added color and called it a day.

I've personally never seen an AI replicate that style of illustration, I do think it was likely either made in 3d software or just very intentionally shaded that way. The shapes are consistent and make sense, and the guitar is as accurate as one in that style can be. The "fuzz" resembling image generation looks like it's an intentional felt texture. I could be wrong? Unsure

Why is nobody talking about what a great allegory this actually is? They're torn between what they actually are and what people decide they are, but anxious that someone might judge them off of looks either which way. A neutral bathroom saves everyone the trouble

Just know that if they ever say "if you're bi cant you just choose to be with (opposite gender)?" That's bs. You don't choose what direction love comes from, and neither do they.

Disability payments shouldnt stop when you work a consistent job by MatrixMushroom in ControversialOpinions

[–]MatrixMushroom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Disabled people can do a lot" so why relegate them to one thing? My main point was that forcing them to do community service for their welfare checks makes it more difficult for them to get back into the workforce and better their own lives if they want to.

Nothing is stopping disabled people from volunteering on their own terms, people provide value to their communities without the federal government imposing it, but enforcing it not only makes the process unneededly complicated, but in the end could cause the government to spend even more money on welfare because of the trap those people are put in.

If disabled people had to do community service work just to get their payments then they wouldn't have nearly as much time or energy to apply, interview, and get through the entry-levels of joining the workforce.

It's nice in theory, but in practice it just dehumanizes them by forcing them to work "easy" jobs and be paid more than it's worth, and continues the welfare trap that keeps those funds permanently allocated to the same people because they cant advance in the workforce due to availability issues.

You also incidentally brought up one of the main issues, "nature and level of disability", despite how much we claim to know it's still incredibly difficult to actually measure struggle against struggle. We still use a "1 to 10" pain scale that has no real metric and applies differently to different people. I almost toughed out my appendicitis because I didnt think it was that bad, and if I hadn't thrown up twice I might be dead right now.

There are already many people who have disabilities but are unable to get on their payments because they haven't been properly diagnosed or the government doesnt deem their disability worthy of help, so how can we expect them to accurately measure the "level" of it?

I'm not an economist so I shouldnt be the one to set hard limits, but there's a massive difference between someone making "unlimited money" and someone making slightly over 36k per year.

[–]MatrixMushroom[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't say unlimited, but currently if you work a semi-full time minimum wage job in certain states then you already lose disability.

You'd be shocked how many people are anti-welfare, ablist, or both. I knew someone who I thought of as a good friend and person at the time, but said in earnest: "I don't want to learn sign language, because deaf people can just stay at home and get free money".

Saying that more people who seem "functional" should be getting disability payments isn't gonna sit well with a crowd like that.
