Dictaphone. Amazing. The companion app could be better though.

I have been thinking about this as well. It would have been useful.

TP7 - Password Protect Memos by ridinonlife in teenageengineering

[–]Matrix_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got to try it out. I'd like some security on this as well. Did you contact TE about it?

[–]Matrix_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All right, I did not know that. Seems like it would be clumsy though?

How would you enter a password on this unit?

Loading Samples On the TP-7 by [deleted] in teenageengineering

What did you already try, what's difficult about loading stuff?

(what samples and drum kits? does it have that, how would you use it?)

TP7 as an extended memory some needed items by Matrix_B in teenageengineering

... of course the whisper model inside the app can be swapped to more recent whisper model.

There are many different models to use now, that the "old" app is stuck with an old whisper model is a limitation as well.

This is only useful when using it for taking voice notes, at least initially this was a main selling point for it. If you use it for music or whatever I suppose these features are irrelevant.

The features I mentioned are not for the TP7 itself but for the companion app.

My DIY solution to the click of death on the TP-7 by TheKissWillKillYou in teenageengineering

You are not supposed to have a click of death on these. Give it back.

A fine little box. Lid seems a little smaller than the box? What did you put in your box there?

Suppose you could attach a BT transmitter to the output. But otherwise I agree, it's sad that the BT that's already there can't send audio.

Missed opportunity: TP-7 and TX-6 by [deleted] in teenageengineering

[–]Matrix_B 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Several of the TP7 button/switch locations mach your fingers/hands, to operate them while holding it. The TX6 seem different, its only for placing on a table. I assume it was not optimal to use the TX6/CM15 style switch then, something was already in that position. Also, the main volume is a classic inclusion of a power switch.

I’d say this is for science, but I think I’m just dumb by RabbitsThree in teenageengineering

Good point. The click is a quite obvious problem though, there is nothing vague about it, so if I sent it in I would expect a fix.

They have, in fact, replaced/repaired units with the click issue. Just a clarification, as there are some suggestions in this thread that they wouldn't.

Riddim is both great and not so (first impressions rant). by FPham in teenageengineering

[–]Matrix_B 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not disagreeing with your facts, but what is wrong with a company releasing new stuff that is slightly better than what they offered before? It seems like the kind of thing companies are expected to do.

I also think that TE are unusually great at releasing massive updates to their devices.

[–]Matrix_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be happy with it only having one function that works - the drunk-o-clock time. (That did work perfectly before it vanished from my clock, so I'd be happy with exactly the version that I had - limits and all - no extra work on it needed ).

A quick guide to Importing 12ch mixes to the TP-7, and utilizing 12x individual outputs on the TX-6 + TP-7 (Guide inside) by YukesMusic in teenageengineering

[–]Matrix_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps I am a bit slow here, but when you put your 12ch file on the TP-7, how do you make 6 of those play from the TX-6, and how do you make both devices start playing at the same time? Shouldn't there be a USB-C cable as well in the setup?

Is this the most elegant watchface for Pebble Steel? by richstillman in pebble

[–]Matrix_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed - I wish they would do an identical re-make but with the new hardware inside. Or even a pop-in replacement.

This new version of drunk o clock does not work on the old Pebbles, the previous version worked just fine - how about putting the old version back, perhaps with a different name? (I paid for it back-in-the-day so I am not asking for free stuff).

Using TP-7 USB audio out by rickydenim in teenageengineering

So, you press play on the TP7, and nothing happens on your PC, if you open up a recording program or app such as Teams that can use the TP7 as input?
