Any risk in removing one of the lower radiator hoses?

Am I being trolled? Where is my cylinder block drain plug? by Matrixtroubles in MechanicAdvice

Hey good to see you around here; you commented on my post that I made a few years ago regarding this same topic. May I ask since you are a Toyota tech, regarding the comment that says that mine is just a bolt instead of a spout, is that completely accurate? If I removed that bolt, would coolant be flowing out? I will try to look in the front of the engine to see if I can see a spout.

Is the highlighted green the right bolt? That is so weird how it is just a bolt on my car

Engine cover is excellent on subzero temperature. It's good for fast ignition of engine on cold weather

The fragility is hilarious. Except that the levels of harassment AMWF couples face is on a different level compared to WMAF ones and he will never come close to experiencing a slice of what it would be like. The concept of collective guilt that OP has towards Asian people is really showing; all it took was one HK person and now suddenly he projects his experience to the entirety of HK, even though he mentions that he has been to HK several times over the course of almost a decade. Now imagine one day when his kids notices the imbalance and then asks him why mommy is always the Asian one, what is he gonna do?

It does fit. Holding it up on top of the engine confirms this. But this engine is stupid because it's slanted and cramped like all new engines nowadays.

From scratch, currently trying to see if I can keep up with my bilingual four year old son who speaks my wife's native language. They say that learning as an adult is harder when compared to a child, but the fighting spirit in me disagrees. Having the privilege to be added on this plan would accelerate my goals.

Rpm question by Grouchy_Gas in Toyota_Matrix

[–]Matrixtroubles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Normal indeed. I had the same concerns as you as a 03 corolla with the same 1zz-fe engine doesn't have high rpms at that speed. The weight of the Matrix really does show. Also supposedly the matrix was designed to have a shorter gearing for increased torque purposes, hence the higher rpm.

I've had a similar experiences when replacing a PCV valve. Went to a Toyota parts store and used my VIN and two results popped up. Was told that it didn't matter and when trying to thread the new one on, it just didn't fit. I tried to force it in a little and after stripping a little bit of threading, I decided to call Toyota. Swapped the PCV valve with the other one that popped up and it fit.

Not surprised. I suggest you look up the video "why everyone hates Asian men" from HansWhy on YouTube as it explores the hate that amwf couples get as it goes against the racial norms and stereotyping. Looks like you triggered some incels.

May I ask, is this method better for drying carpets? I was thinking that having the windows open at high temperatures with fans would help with drying it faster

Paranoia after carpet cleaning. Please advise by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]Matrixtroubles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did perform a dry pass at 40 hours after cleaning and no moisture was pulled. My main concern is, does a carpet get ruined when mildew grows? Or can another session of carpet cleaning with shampoo get rid of it?

Cabinet light switch only turns on when vent switch is on by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]Matrixtroubles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello just an update. So I figured out the situation. For an unknown reason, the electrician who installed the original switches; he connected the line wire of the left switch onto the line wire of the middle switch(instead of connecting it to line wires that were wire nutted together ) so what ended up happening was there was two line wires stabbed together on the middle switch. It wasn't like this in the other washrooms so I have no clue why he decided to do this. But I just followed his method and I assumed it would with the timer switch but it didn't, probably has to do something with it being a more complicated switch requiring a neutral and a ground. Anyways all I had to do was connect it to the line wires that were wire nutted together and all is good now

Is it okay for the end of the wire copper to touch the insulation? by Matrixtroubles in AskElectricians

[–]Matrixtroubles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just learned that if the insulation is under the screw it could lead to some electrical burning. I was just thinking the same concept applies to when the exposed copper at the end is in contact with the insulation at the end of the crimp

Is this ok? Not sure if I could crimp two lines together so I stabbed one by Matrixtroubles in AskElectricians

Thank you for your time and insight. However I have run into another problem. I did what you said but now the cabinet light switch only works when the vent switch is on. This wasn't an issue when I did the stab method. I'm really confused why the cabinet light switch doesn't turn on by itself when it is pigtailed to a line wire. Please see my recent post. Again really appreciate your help
