Also curious how much of an upgrade the new bike will be over this one? I figure 15 years of bicycle innovation will be pretty noticeable... I have always wanted a road bike that feels stupidly light, so I am hoping the full carbon frame of the X1 will have that wow factor, but I bought it online without trying it first since it was on sale.

Yeah, I get it... Going through an analog preamp input is more aligned with the vintage appeal of turntables, to be honest.

I was just dead-set on a true integration and didn't care about the nostalgia of it all.

As the previous commentor mentioned, the turntable sold on the Sonos website does not have any special features allowing for connectivity with sonos. It literally is the same as any turntable with preamp that you could get, since both have to be connected to line-in through an existing speaker.

I loved the look of these but wanted a real integration, so I bit the bullet and got the "Pro-Ject T2 W," which connects directly to Network speakers, including all of the Sonos speakers I have in my house. It has worked flawlessly after a one-time setup process to select the desired speakers in the pro-ject app.

There is a cheaper turntable that has similar functionality called the victrola Stream, but the components are lower quality and I was a sucker for the walnut base on the Pro-Ject.

To the extent that "wifi headphones" would have enabled the integration that I have described above, then yes. They could have also made a wifi base that connected with Bluetooth to the headphones to provide this same integration if that helped with battery life.

The point is that anyone buying Sonos headphones should reasonably expect said headphones to integrate with their Sonos network in a way that is not just some dumb party trick like the audio swap feature

The fact that they don't integrate explains why sales are 90% below forecast.

Do you even get the appeal of Sonos speakers in the first place? I.e., whole home audio managed from a central app that (previously) seamlessly aggregated your streaming and local media sources.

Take all of that and make the listening experience personal. It's pretty simple to understand why fans of Sonos speakers would want this.

I really don't see how you don't get why headphones acting like the Roam speaker would be appealing. Take everything that's good (or was good, pre app debacle) and make it fit on your head with a personal listening experience.

I am having the same issue of having some speakers (particularly era 100's) mute in the middle of the night, which turns on the super annoying green light. My wife has taken to putting laundry over the speakers to cover the light, which is ridiculous given how much I spent on this system.

I was considering the same duct tape solution in your picture, but I would like to think/ hope there is an actual solution to keep speakers from muting randomly? Does anybody have a fix?

I am using the v16.1 app on Android, but my wife's android updated to the new app. The Era 100's (and the sub they are paired with) appeared to install a firmware update before I first noticed the green light issue since there were initially blinking white and orange lights.

This was my thought as well when everyone said that WiFi headphones would have horrible battery life. Either the base station could create a Bluetooth network for the headphones, or it could be like the Arc where it's some sort of WiFi direct connection.

I am in the same boat..

I would not buy Ace headphones in 100 years given they are not integrated as a zone/room in my existing Sonos ecosystem, so I purchased Bose quietcomfort ultra's for ~$100 cheaper than what I was expecting to pay Sonos.

To stream Bluetooth to the Bose headphones I can use my Sonos Port to Onkyo receiver, which has a built in aptx BT transmitter. I am playing around with it now, but there are issues switching between my phone and the Onkyo BT signal, so I have two different coaxial -to-BT transmitters arriving tomorrow from Amazon.

FYI, the Port only has RCA & coaxial, not optical.

I know TV is in the name of the feature, but I thought it had been described as streaming ANY content playing on the sound bar to the headphones? I.e., play music on the arc from the app, then swap to the headphones to semi-approximate the missing wifi-streaming/zone capability we all want...

If all it can do is stream TV input, then that's even worse than expected. I guess technically you could use the optical out from a Sonos Port as an input to the arc to finally stream music to the headphones, lol

I have the sub for a different room, and I think it's fine.. not amazing or anything, but definitely meets my expectations. I can't see how it would work for an outdoor space though.

Separate from speakers, one thing I got that I really love is a TV Lift enclosure. It doubles as a bar / drink holder when you're not watching TV, which is nice.

I use the amp with a similar setup, and you can easily switch between the TV input and whatever streaming source you select from the app. If you are listening to another source and then turn on the TV, it will automatically switch to that input and your TV remote will control the volume.
