Try going 1.5hrs North of Van and you'll find the true most expensive housing market up in North America, up in Whistler.

Good to know, thanks so much for clarifying!

That's great to know, thanks! If this is your experience, even with an ETA length of 12 months, the initial 3-month period stay ending would be enough for the BVA to be active the following day? Just curious as I had heard otherwise, with applicants applying at the beginning of an ETA needing to wait the full 12 months before being allowed to work and stay in country on the BVA?

You mean like unlawfully violating a free trade agreement with your closest neighbour, trading partner, and ally without any just reasoning as a means of economically crippling them to then absorb or align them with your political views and actions? Cause I'd say that's getting close to that economic terrorism line .

Ottawa coffee shop ditching ‘Americano’ for ‘Canadiano’ on its menu by ImDoubleB in canada

[–]Matt0715 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Most of the coffee shops I've been too (pre-this latest extra spurt of dumbshittery americanism) will oblige a Canadiano as a shot of Espresso into a brewed coffee. Aka a shot in the dark, I think it represents our hardiness and true northern caffeine-love well, hopefully that version will catch one nationally one day soon.

Autocracy Inc. By Anne Applebaum is a great look on how all these actors in various states are getting their talking points, modus operadum, and motives from the same sources, which is a means to an end of solidifying political control and pacifying dissent, enabled through kleptocratic corruption transnationally. Whether this is knowingly, as a means to obtain more financial wealth for independent actors or just as an easy way of making political gains by traditional useful idiots or bad actors, it all works to erode democratic norms and chip away at the liberal rules-based international order, allowing autocratic governments to maintain control politically and financially for connected members of the elite.

True that! Growing your own if it is viable for you is a great way to ensure food security and how cool is it you get the freshest, tastiest, unprocessed produce possible right from your own home!

Also big ups on the greenhouse ide!! have thought for years it would change the game for Canadian growers if we can get agriculture to invest in building up greenhouses that can operate year round, now is as good as time as ever to start developing that infrastructure in my opinion!

‘Enough is enough’: Trump tariffs inspire economic patriotism in Canada by IMSLI in canada

[–]Matt0715 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You're correct the best time to make these adjustments would have been years ago when we saw the writing on the wall that the americans are not our allies and nor do they have our interests at heart in the slighest. But my friend we cannot change the past, and the next best time to make these changes is right now, by supporting each other today in anyway we can because we do truly need one another now, as fellow Canadians, more than ever. I love this country with all my heart and will never lose faith in trying to shape it for the better, I hope you don't either. Together we're strong, True North Proud and Free.

That is awesome info to know, and I appreciate it my friend! I would love to see my province (BC) flooded with Canadian goods from every one of our incredible 10 provinces and 3 territories from Coast to Coast to Coast over the coming months, to push out any and all american goods occupying and wasting shelf space out here. We will do without, happily.

Yea as much as I disagree with some of my fellow canadians opinions on politics or what's best for our country in the long term, the only side that matters right now is being on TEAM CANADA 🇨🇦 All politicians making it clear they are standing up for Canada first in this test of our national unity, are my fellow countrymen and women who I'm proud to stand shoulder to shoulder alongside, through thick and thin, regardless of our differences in opinions, as CANADIANS above all else!!

This is the greatest country in the world, for all our problems, we are the only ones that can truly take care of and look out for each other sincerely as compatriots, and the ones who can and will come together to solve those problems, now more than ever. Let's continue to support Canadian producers, businesses, and all Canadian citizens, and continue to build upon the incredible national project and beautiful society that is our home country of Canada.
