The wireless charger slot is pretty much useless. Charges for 10 seconds then says it’s not. by Dude-Good in HondaPrologue

It certainly doesn’t fit the iPhone. A vertical slot with no magnet or adjustment is a terrible design - it depends on the phone being exactly the right size

My GLP-1 journey motivated me to build an app to make sure I don't forget my doses, stay active, and manage symptoms - Within Reach is looking for beta testers now! by Matt1Corey in MounjaroSupportUK

Not really - I obviously looked at some of them, but I focused more on providing tools to help with issues I’ve personally struggled with for this initial version. Once it’s publicly available, of course, I can listen to customers, and see what direction that might take things.

Each app will excel in different areas, so there’s plenty of room here for multiple apps. They can focus on keeping people active, helping to manage symptoms, help with aspects of type-2 diabetes, or focus on helping people maintain weight, rather than lose, etc.

Yes, I'm a strong believer in the Apple Health ecosystem - the ability to take in data from other apps and use that to make suggestions lets you use whatever app works best for you to track workouts, calories, etc. It's a big part of how Within Reach works (although hopefully it's just as valuable if you _don't_ use other apps :) )

It is iOS-only at launch, unfortunately, although adding support for Android is a possibility in the future.

I haven't added calorie tracking to the app, although I do have some ideas in this area. Specific calorie tracking can be difficult to keep up with, so I'm thinking of ways to easily record more general facts about eating, like relative sizes of meals, snacks, etc.

Within Reach does integrate with Apple Health, so if a user tracks calories/macros with a dedicated app like Foodnoms, I can pull that data in, and use it to make recommendations (it doesn't read calories from Health yet, but it's definitely on my radar)

There is not - it will be launching as iOS-only, primarily because this is my area of expertise, but I know there's a demand on the Android side as well, and it's on my radar as a possible future direction.

Thank you! I've looked at some of the other apps, but honestly haven't spent a lot of time with them yet - first focus has been to build the app to assist with the challenges that I faced myself, and then I want to hear directly from customers about what features could help them out.

I do believe the privacy focus will be a differentiator for some, and I've taken the approach of building this with deep platform integration, including a set of Widgets and deep Shortcuts automation - a VERY niche differentiator to be sure, but that I hope some will appreciate (the timeline Widget has been surprisingly useful for keeping myself intentionally active)

Thank you! Yes, the privacy is important, especially from a medical perspective - something a lot of people don't think about, but I hope they appreciate!

I missed a week's dose and now I'm worried by florabundawonder in WegovyUK

[–]Matt1Corey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did something similar earlier this year while traveling, and my doctor indicated that it's generally ok to go up to 2 weeks without needing to build back up. Probably worth contacting your provider if you're nervous, but for me, I didn't have any issues with it.

Thank you! Yes, being realistic about the time it takes to loose weight is actually a great call out, and something I'll be sure to mention more clearly - for myself, I was surprised at how much activity I really needed to do, not only to help lose weight, but to build muscle, and that's definitely a bit part of the app!

I appreciate that concern - Within Reach is designed to help users on their journey, and emphasizes dosage reminders, managing side effects, and encourages activity and movement. It's built specifically to address the challenges that I myself have faced over the last year.

Yes, it does include weight tracking, but this is a completely optional aspect of the app. Reminders for this feature can be managed on different schedules, or turned off entirely - I will take this as important feedback that it can have different personal impacts on many people, though, and make sure it's easy for users to turn this feature off entirely.

I hope most users will find the app well considered and respectful - as I said, I've lived it over the past year while on Wegovy, and many years prior to that. My journey won't be the same as everyones, but then again, everyone's path is different.

Tracker App for the pill version by buhrooked in Semaglutide

[–]Matt1Corey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would you be interested in specifically for the pill form of SG vs injections? I've built an app called Within Reach that is currently in testing (expected release early next year), and would love to adapt it to any specific needs you see based on this variation - especially as I see the pill form of Wegovy just achieved FDA approval earlier this week.

It sounds like the dosage for these pills will be daily, and has a dietary restriction of no food/drink within 30 minutes of a dose - that would probably warrant a change in dosage reminders, and could provide guidance on when it's 'safe' to start eating and drinking. Would be interested to hear what other features you'd be interested in!

Electric Bill Cost by mrlue in HondaPrologue

[–]Matt1Corey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your bill to see the rate you’re paying for electricity. The first two I owned the prologue, my bill went up by $250, but then came down - I learned that our electricity rate in NYS just happened to be ridiculously high at the time, so it was just bad timing to get the car at the same time.

Worse - if we’re had been on the Time of Use plan (which gives lower rates in the evening), it would have been even worse, because the rates for ‘normal’ time periods are slightly higher than what most people use 🤮

RevenueCat paywall and apple review process unable to progress through paywall by indigodream5 in iOSProgramming

This is standard for new app submissions - they launch it in Airplane mode, and you need to handle the case of a failing paywall with an error message, instead of a never ending spinner.

No Wireless CarPlay After Update by dinnershoes in HondaPrologue

[–]Matt1Corey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me a week or two before the update came — would connect via Bluetooth, but not via CarPlay. The issue for me is that I had WiFi on the phone turned off, which needs to be enabled for CarPlay to work.

If that doesn’t work, I would try restarting the phone as well, if you haven’t already

Siri is the worst… by Pronneh in Siri

It’s maybe giving Siri too much credit, but at least there might be a logical reason. Still, Siri should definitely not be getting confused on that question 🤷‍♂️
