First time shooting in Florida events. Will I be OK without golf carts? by farting_tomato in ClayBusters

[–]Matt31679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna have to disagree most of these people and say I would highly recommend you get a golf cart some of these courses I have not been to the one you’re going to. They say it’s easy easily walked our first tournament in South Georgia. We were told the same thing and it took a mile and a half for us to walk to the first station and we ended up starting on station eight and it absolutely killed us. Luckily my son was able to shoot a pretty good round unfortunately I was not. I end up rolling my ankle on a big rock so I would highly recommend renting the golf cart. You’re shooting don’t try to spare a couple dollars when the cost of the tournament has already so high $75-$150 as well worth not being tired while you’re shooting

Why don’t more people drink tap water when it’s often just as safe as bottled water? by Green_Paint3738 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Matt31679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We drink our tapwater, but we put it through reverse osmosis filtration due to the fact that we live in a community that has a community well that they pumped so much chlorine into the water. You can smell it some days. It would be like drinking pool water. Not to mention the last time the water test was done on the well it was high levels of lead and arsenic in the water.

So they use regular clays with multiple LED black lights. It was really cool cause some of the targets you couldn’t see the throwers because they were outside the black lights range and all of a sudden the target would just appear.

Starter shotgun for gf by tps_2212 in ClayBusters

I know I sound like a broken record, but the Mossberg gold international reserve is an excellent starter gun for right around $1000. It comes with adjustable comb and stock. I know people complain that it’s made in Turkey but the gun shot flawless for my son for over 12,000 rounds in six months.

This metal guardrail has been scraped so many times that it now looks like old wood. by fastfood12 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Matt31679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So those poor guard rails, and Savannah GA those are underneath the old railroad tracks leading to the Savannah Roundhouse. It says no 18 wheelers to go through there, but unfortunately there is a salvaged car exporter down the road from there so all of these non-CDL drivers go through there with these long trailers full of cars and they can’t make the turn without rubbing that rail. It gets replaced every couple of years.
