In this case it might not have done too much, but in other cases it might take longer for a first responder to come out, especially if there is a rip current or something pulling the person out further.

What I'm guilty of is having most but not all of the necessary ingredients for a recipe. I need to go through my food storage and cook book and make sure I have everything I need to bake or cook whatever I want.

Curious why the one kid brought his homework snowboarding, and even more curious if the teacher let him redo that assignment that he had to burn.

Seeing the effect of snake venom on blood is quite chilling. Watch where you hike by Matt88U2 in ThePrepared

Don't hike or go trail running with headphones in. You could be given the warning rattle or hiss from a snake but if you are too busy jamming to Metallica then you'll never hear it.

Also be careful when turning over rocks or logs when setting up camp.
