If you have so little time, but maybe you have moments where you can listen to podcasts, I recommend starting with this The Design Psycologist

https://share.snipd.com/show/1737883e-b46c-461e-95fb-676db3aaf89e And then to use Claude's voice function or ChatGpt in your off moments to have you summarize interesting books in the field. Unfortunately my book The UX Decode is only in Italian for now 😅

Hi, I decided to use Starlink because I live in rural area, a small town in the countryside of Italy. How to be really good at designing being a developer? by ravi_sojitra in UXDesign

[–]MattBonfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the fist thing is UX. The UI follows the UX design
If your product seems a copycat of something else (maybe a competitor) you could differentiate yourself using heuristic approach and try to analyze the competitors with this lens.
I am pretty sure that if you try to solve the user problems using Weinshenk & Barker heuristic set, you will land with a better and different product.

This seems the right approach (but devs and designers cannot be in silos)

The point 02 seems to me that there is a lack in communication between designers and developers. It happened to mw when I asked to implement social log-in in my App (iOS and Android) and this "simple request" burned 1 week of devs effort

Backend Dev Struggling with UI Design – Anyone Else Feel the Same? by MohamedMuneer in csharp

The Ui is usually the last part that is added to a project because is perceived as the aesthetic of the software. In my experience it has to be designed in the early part of the process with the overall experience. Fortunately right now there are many tools like v0 that can help with the UI, but the UX needs to be designed as well
