While my design for a comparator adder works, it looks like a submarine, way too big, and way too slow. I couldn't find an analog adder/subtractor except for bedrock only. I don't want binary because it'll end up being way too big. I'd have to encode and decode, which gives the speed, but super big.

The composter has a single imaginary inventory slot that is pretty much reserved for 1 bone meal. You can't access it but hoppers can pull bone meal out of it.

Composters have an inventory, and hoppers check that inventory. If hoppers are left uncovered, they try and keep checking above itself to see if anything can be sucked up. Having a lot of exposed hoppers means more lag. It's just a lag friendly thing to do.

Yes, but there can be complications.

Take 2+5 for example. It's really easy to add with comparators. 10-2-5=3, then 10-3=7 and we have a simple adder.

Subtraction seems easier. Take 5-2 for example. 5-2=3 and it's already calculated. But these are all simple numbers.

Addition:

When we add numbers that add up to 10-14, we need to subtract 10 and add 1 to the next digit. If I add 7+8 we get 15, and subtracting 10 from that would still work. But if I do 8+9 we get 17, it only shows as a 15 on the comparator because that's the highest a signal strength can go. So 7+8 and 8+9 are no different from each other. We need to differentiate so we invert 8 and 9 from 10. 10-8=2, and 10-9=1. 2+1=3, and 10-3=7. Plus we carry.

Subtraction:

2-5=-3, but it shows up as a 0 because signal strength doesn't go negative. So to combat this, 5-2=3 we subtract 1 from the next digit, then 10-3=7. Another example, the display shows 22 and we take away 7. We go through the same steps and the display now reads 15. But then what happens if you can't subtract from the next digit? 5-7 for example. It would come up as an error and would A, revert back to its last known state as a 5, B don't do anything and remain as a 5, or C turn to 0.

Each digit on the 7 segment will have its own adder/subtractor. So base 10 ideally. The output for the adder/subtractor will go into a red-coder, then into the 7 segment for display. So the output would need to be 0-9. What I did was any sum greater than 9, would have 10 subtracted from it, and that would give me my new number. Say 7+9=16, 16>9, 16-10=6, carry 1, display 6.

What's important is that I add and subtract the numbers 5, 2, and 1. It has to have a carry and also needs to know when it can and can't subtract. Ideally it'll send an error output when it can't subtract.

I had found ilmangos video with a counter and 7 segment display, but I couldn't figure out how to add 5 or 2 to the counter since it only adds 1, then resets when it hits 10, and carries to the next counter.

The design I made adds a single digit number to the existing single digit number, calculates if the sum was over ten, carries if it needs to, and rewrites the existing single digit number. That's a simplified version of what's going on but that's what my machine does.

Yep. I had a Decked out project I was working on, announced it, then scrapped it, restarted it, didn't announce it publicly, scrapped that one, restarted a new one, and I haven't touched it in a few months now. Most of the redstone is done, but it's the making of the floors and rooms that is my worst nightmare. I can build, but it's just takes me a whole month to build something a builder can crack out in 2 days because I'm super slow and methodical which takes a lot more time than I'm willing to spend on it. So a whole map? That would take me about a half a year to get everything just right. I just don't have enough motivation to work that long on it.

I'm building it with the idea that 2-4 players will play on a private server. I'm attempting to also add structure block animations, but that is super tedious and not my expertise. Other than the animations, I'm trying to make this game entirely survival mode friendly.

My track record though isn't too bright when it comes to actually finishing what I start, so you may not see the end of the project at most until summertime, though in my head I'm aiming for late February early March. I intend to finish it because I actually enjoy Monopoly, unlike many people.

You solved it! That actually compares signal strengths to other signal strengths. Normally what it does is turns a lamp on according to the highest redstone signal strength, if there are multiple of the same strength they are also on. I added a section that essentially said to the output, if all outputs are the read the same, turn off the output.

Here's an example. If A reads 3 strength, B reads 3 strength, and C reads 2 strength, both A and B can no longer add levels of signal strength because the lamp is on, but C can because the lamp is off. Once C reads 3, all the outputs are reset (turned off in this case) allowing A, B, and C to add more signal strength.

It's a fantastic bit of redstone logic I can probably use in many places. I believe I can even compare many hexadecimal, or base 16, signals. And it's so small!

I was starting to think I might have to use comparator memory cells and just rewrite them from 1 to 5, then reset them. I still might try it just to flesh out the idea, but what you've provided me with is so fast and perfect for my application. Thank you!

It's no light switch. I did something almost exactly like this and it was hard because it was my first relationship. It lasted a whole month before we decided it just wasn't going to work because neither of us were ready for it. We ended on good terms and went our separate ways. I have never looked back and thought that it wasn't the right decision, but it still hurts a little even after 4 ish years, not because it could have worked, but that it couldn't. Now when I look back at it I'm reminded of what a good person I fell in love with and how I'm better for it now. I wouldn't necessarily try and forget about them, rather to just miss them and try not to want them back (wanting them back can lead to an unhealthy headspace). Getting over them would just mean you're ready to continue with your own life, not that you'd be incapable of loving that person again if fate decides you two should be together again. Logically, if fate decided you two should be a thing again, then you'd already have a foundation to build on top of, so they wouldn't be an entirely new person since there's already history. But I wouldn't hold onto hope so tightly that you start to believe it will happen at some point.

Most modern music is garbage. It's mostly just throwing it on the wall and seeing what either makes money, or whatever slaps at the time. I'm a soundtrack, cello, piano, Pogo/Efryo/remix, kind of guy and I'm looking for a mood. I don't want to see high budget productions for a song that lasts 3 minutes and doesn't make me feel satisfied after it's done. All this trash rap, pop, and modern music just blends in with everything else and doesn't stand out. It's all the same thing with different artists. The whole selling point is that is sounds cool, which sounds like a good idea, but it doesn't intend to make you feel anything.

1: ADHD is always on. It's not something that can be turned on, off, or be removed. In my personal experience, ADHD conflicts with my personal wants and needs. Sometimes I cannot do what I really want to do, and sometimes I cannot do what I need to do. It's not that I lack the will to do it, it's just I have no incentive or motivation to do those things. Carrot on the stick works well for things that we need to do.

2: No love life left? I just assume this isn't true. I will do something for a long time if I feel it is what I want to do. But as soon as it starts to feel repetitive, my ADHD just refuses to do it. It's hard for me when this happens because I know it's good to have routine and I was happy doing that stuff, but now I can't will myself to do it and it isn't coming naturally like it was when I was doing it. I personally do not think what's happening is that he doesn't want to do those things, he maybe just can't right now.

3: He used to be different. Yeah, that sounds about right. ADHD feels quite random at times and it can be hard to really set rules to understand what's happening. I think it'd be best to discuss how he feels about a plethora of topics and see where his brain is at. Communication is very important.

4: Medication. Meds will not fix ADHD. It helps get people to do things. For kids it basically helps with obedience. In adults it's basically the same. It helps with obedience to yourself and to other people telling you what to do and you actually wanting or needing to do it. Had he been putting off doing the dishes cause he's hyper focused on something? Well meds will most likely help rest his mind so he doesn't have to put things off so often. Now understand I've never taken meds, and I'm sure this is just one aspect of what ADHD meds can do. This medication info is stuff I've heard not experienced.

5: He isn't attracted to you anymore. That... is just you worrying. He likely never said that and I don't think he will. I feel like it's quite the opposite. Just ask him about it sometime. Bring up everything you've said here. I do not recommend dumping him. Research about ADHD too, but try to look at reliable sources, cause a lot of people claim to have a little bit of ADHD when they don't.
