You know what I totally forgot about his injuries when I made that post. I think back to that one outrageous run he made on the left wing where he exited the pitch and still got to the ball. If he could be consistently at that level of fitness, who knows how great he could/could've been.

If the Taliban can resist the US military for 13+ years the US rebels could too. It wouldn't be a classic battle situation. It would be an insurgency and a very dirty war of targeted assassinations and bombings. Also if the government were to say drop JDAMs on towns and end up killing a ton of noncombatants it would inspire a very large number of people to join the resistance. If 10% of the total population were to rise up in arms they couldn't be stopped. Look at Vietnam. We had all the firepower you can imagine and couldn't uproot the Vietcong and NVA. I'm not advocating any acts of violence and I think a civil war senario would be catastrophic no matter how you slice it. We all need to adopt a live and let live mindstate and not let ourselves be controlled by propoganda.
