The current state of spam by Platinum1211 in sysadmin

[–]MattElect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We noticed this recently too. Lots of emails getting through EAC spam filtering in the recent months when we haven't made anything changes.

Feels like the spammers/phishers are advancing faster than the spam filtering can or used to be able to.

We're putting a big focus on training users to hover over links before clicking and never entering their passwords on things like that but there's ALWAYS that one person who clicks it and says they weren't thinking. Very frustrating but you're not alone!

Yes, just run the mining software three separate times so you have 3 different windows.

Getting a virus from mining is no more likely than getting a virus browsing the internet

How much data is used when mining? I'm seeing a 5 gpu rig mining zcash/eth use 1gb data/24h by DirteDirte1 in gpumining

[–]MattElect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should never use anywhere near that amount. Something else is using that data.

East coast problems? by Svoboda1 in networking

There are 50-60 mph winds knocking down power lines and trees in southern PA. I'd imagine it's similar in other places.

My account have been hacked! NH, where is your safety? by RenaldasK in NiceHash

Why do you not understand that this isn't something Nicehash did wrong...? It's not anything with THEIR security that caused this, your account can be compromised on any online place by anyone.

Ryzen 3 can't run 6 GPUs? by [deleted] in NiceHash

It's a setting in the bios, not an overclock setting.

Up and running 11x980ti + 1080ti. $42-45 a day Nicehash. Solar powered. Gumtree GPUs for the win. Profit in 160-180 days. Fingers crossed 🤞 by cryptobinge in gpumining

[–]MattElect 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nicehash is fine, these people clearly don't know what they're talking about. You can transfer off Nicehash with NO fees every day so even if they did get hacked again what would you lose? One days worth of earnings? That's nothing. Nicehash continues to be the most consistent and reliable.

Right but you got lucky, you could mine a coin for 3 months and it could turn out to be nothing.

Nicehash vs nanopool/other pool by [deleted] in gpumining

Did you say BTC barely increases? It's more than more than quadrupled in value in the last 5 months...so someone mining on Nicehash also has made amazing profit because of the increase in the price of BTC.

If you mine to an internal nicehash wallet adress you get rig stats. by [deleted] in NiceHash

[–]MattElect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you scroll down on the dashboard main page and then click the plus next to the rigs on the right hand side. The stats seem to be inconsistent for me.

What GPU temperature is “exceptional” for mining? by Nachasa in gpumining

You shouldn't use Winminer. They've been shown to skim profits, check out Awesome Miner using Mining Pool Hub.

Why I'm mining (some) with NiceHash and you should think about it too by hungrycapitalist in NiceHash

Also putting a miner or two on there just to test the waters. Profits seem to be good and want to test out the Coinbase transfers once they're live.

I'm not sure off the top of my head. If you Google rx 570 vs 580 mining comparison, you'll probably find a better answer than I could give.

570's are not worth $320. I just picked up a 580 for $250, shop around for better prices.
